The three escapees had entered a long narrow hallway with no exit besides a singular door at the very end. No windows had occupied the space and no one else was present. By the time they got to the exit their guide annoying hit the door with their fist. "It's locked."
Mallix just raised his eyebrow thinking that would have been a given. "Can't you just pick it like you did in the kitchen?" He asked bouncing Kaila on his hip.
"It's not that simple. The lock on this door is way more advanced than the one in the kitchen." They said with a hint of worry.
"But you can still pick it, right?" Their worry made every inch of Mallix uneasy.
"Yeah, I mean probably. I just need some time." Not wanting to waste anymore of their precious seconds Mallix just motioned for them to begin their process.
As they worked carefully on the lock, Mallix kept his attention to the little girl clinging onto him for dear life. Everything was playing out smoothly, but just as Mallix felt an over burst of joy hit him thinking of their escape he felt the most painful spark shoot through his body.
It all happened in the blink of an eye. One moment Kaila was safe and sound in Mallix's arms, the next he was hit with force in his manlyhood while a large hand gripped a large amount of his dark brown hair throwing him backwards as Kaila was roughly taken from his hold.
"Daddy!" Kaila's scream ringed in his head. The fall had given Mallix a horrible headache.
But upon hearing the cock of a gun Mallix wasted no time in getting up. The area between his legs was burning as a fire spread all around and his head was ringing with stars circling around, but seeing the sight in front of him was enough to distract him from those minor pains.
Opposite to the door stood Elias with a gun pointed towards Mallix's chest with one hand, and another wrapped tightly around Kaila's throat keeping her against his chest. "Think it was going to be that easy to escape?!" Elias deeply growled putting his hand over Kaila's mouth noticing she was getting ready to scream. His firm hold on her ensured she wouldn't be able to move.
"Who the hell are you?!" Mallix spat back wary of the loaded weapon pointed in his direction.
"The owner of the property you were just about to steal!" Elias cracked a grin pleased with Mallix's response. As expected the instant the words slipped his mouth Mallix was ready to pounce on the man just barely stronger than himself.
"SHE IS NOT YOUR PROPERTY!" The fumes coming out of Mallix's ears were enough to send the whole facility to flames. He advanced a step closer to the beast holding his baby girl hostage not flinching at the gun now being directed towards his head.
"On the contrary, she is. And you see Kaila here has a very important role during tomorrow's auction. You on the other hand," Elias eyed Mallix up and down completely oblivious to their guide hidden behind Mallix's large muscular build, "you're just collateral damage." The man with a dark heart gave a crooked smile before turning his attention to Kaila who had been squirming around roughly in his arm.
The rage inside Mallix hit its peak seeing how Elias turned over to Kaila while biting his lips eyeing her small figure. Using this very tiny window of opportunity, Mallix charged towards Elias just barely missing a bullet that scraped the side of his uniform as he dodged it.
Colliding into Elias, Mallix struggled to multitask getting the gun and Kaila. While the ogre in the black suit didn't fall to the floor like Mallix had hoped, he was still pushed back hard enough to throw him off his advantage.
Mallix used both hands to grab Elias's wrist holding the gun. Once he could remove the threat he could easily take Kaila away. There was a small power struggle between them. The gun was held pointed up towards the roof, one by one the bullets shot out sending a loud ring throughout the entire department. Mallix knew he needed to do something fast to get out of here before the entire hallway was swarmed by Hounds.
Seeing as one of Elias hands were held high and the other was still distracted by Kaila, Mallix swiftly released the grip he had on Elias's wrist and instead opted to kick him below his shoulder blade.
The blow made Elias step backwards nearly tumbling backwards as he tripped over his own feet. The kick had loosened his grip on Kaila enough to the point where the small girl was able to slip away and get to the safety behind Mallix.
However, the gun was still glued to his palm. Before Elias had a chance to rebalance himself Mallix threw himself back at the ogre using all the force he had left to finally knock him completely to the ground. There was a small earthquake by the impact, sending the gun flying out of his hands and behind his head.
But just as Mallix was about to land another punch, Elias had seen it coming. Rather than laying there to accept the hit, he dodged the fast flying fist grabbing Mallix's shoulders and tumbling the both of them over. Now with Elias over Mallix it was his turn to begin swinging.
One after another hard solid fists came into contact with the man's face. Blood was already starting to pour onto the ground. A mixture of both men's had stained the white tiled floor.
They were so caught up in one another that nobody noticed Kaila's heart filled pleads for Elias to let Mallix go. But more so than that, everyone was completely oblivious to the successful click of the door lock.
As the masked figure turned around for the first time seeing exactly the cause of all the commotion, they instantly ran into action. Pushing past Kaila they slammed both their fists together down on Elias's back, sending him backwards. The brief moment gave Mallix a chance to get away and back to his own feet.
"Two on one, that hardly seems fair." Elias spat the blood oozing out of his mouth onto the floor in front of Mallix's feet as he held up his fists.
Back and forth punches and kicks were being made, nobody was safe. Kaila had pressed her back against the wall as far as she could go trying to keep out of the fight. With the unknown figures help, Mallix was able to kick Elias down to the ground once again. Only this time the impact had enough force to send him sliding further away from their exit.
Before either of the two could approach him, Elias had turned to his side reaching for the gun now at his disposal. Mallix froze trying to picture Elias's next move so he could avoid getting shot, however, the figure besides him had other plans.
Almost immediately after Elias attempted to grab the gun the unknown guide had begun running over to Elias. Mallix broke from his trance as a loud ring shot through the air again. The figure in front of Elias groaned stepping backwards in disbelief at the blood gushing out of their torso.
In a moments notice Elias had repositioned the gun towards Mallix. Right before the next ring sent out Mallix tensed looking like a deer in headlights. After the shot was fired Mallix was in his own state of disbelief when he didn't feel a pain, instead staring as their guide used the last of their strength to jump in front of him.
As soon as they crashed into the floor, the helmet on their face split wide open. That one instant was enough to put both parties in a state of shock as everyone froze looking at the person behind the mask.
