Letting Kaila rest until she woke, Lauren had been sitting at the other end of the room with her laptop in her lap doing work. When Kaila began to make little noises she finished up her last email before shutting the computer down and making her way to the little girl.

Seeing a red mark on her face from where her cheek rested on her arm Lauren couldn't help but laugh. "Looks like you listened and actually got a good amount of sleep. Shame it's nearing nighttime." She lifted Kaila up off the floor and onto her hip.

Everyone else in the large dark room had been too focused on their own assignment to notice Lauren and Kaila. Walking in small circles, Kaila buried her face into Lauren's shoulder gripping on tightly to her shirt.

Lauren patted her back as they walked. The soothing rhythm helped Kaila ease her grip, but Lauren could tell she was still on edge. Feeling the material under Kaila's face becoming wet, she was fast to realize the source.

Pushing Kaila's face away gently, Lauren looked down seeing her wet red face. "You love crying don't you?" She chuckled lightly not wanting to upset the small girl anymore than she already was. Sitting down with Kaila, Lauren grabbed a dry part of her shirt and dapped it against Kaila's face. "Much better." She smiled but Kaila only frowned and began to cry again slamming her face into Lauren's shoulder.

Wrapping her arms around her firmly, Lauren held her in place letting her cry to her hearts content. "Your going to make yourself sick from the amount of tears pouring out of that face Kay. Can you try calming down for me?"

Shaking her head Lauren cringed feeling a small patch of snot being wiped against her. Just patting Kaila's back she tried blocking the feeling out of her mind. "What's got you so upset Kay? Is it because of the auction coming up? Cause if it is why are you only now breaking, you've known about that information for quite some time. " Lauren sympathetically asked.

Kaila knew what Lauren said was true. She had indeed known about this information for some time now, but that didn't mean her heart was free from the struggle. She didn't want to go through with the auction. She needed to get out of here and fast. But planning an escape and executing it in less than three days is was not going to be an easy beat.

To push her limits even further Kaila was scared with Lauren even holding her. The entire time she'd been here Lauren treated her differently. At first she was the same old Lauren that Kaila knew. But now, at this very time, with Lauren cradling Kaila trying to calm her down was strange. She didn't want to be hurt again.

She sniffled and wiped her eyes with her arm pulling away to look at Lauren who couldn't help but awe at the sight in front of her. Kaila's face was in shambles. There was tears coming down her cheeks and a small buildup of snot right under her nose. "W-why...y-you...b-be...n-nice?" She mumbled out hiccuping in between words.

Looking down Lauren just brought Kaila in for a hug. Holding the small girl close to her, Kaila automatically snuggled into Lauren's shoulder once again. Lauren had managed to place her chin on top of Kaila's head. "There's just a lot of things changing right now Kay. I'm just making sure you get the treatment you should have been getting from day one."

Sitting Kaila up Lauren looked right into her eyes as she held her small hands tightly. "Look I know I'm a screw up Kay, and I turned on you on multiple occasions. But I just want you to know that I'm sorry. I'll explain things more when I can, I promise. I'm not expecting you to accept my apology, even I wouldn't accept it. But I need you to trust me here." Lauren whispered lowly despite there being nobody else around and the cage being soundproof.

With the level of seriousness Lauren had concerned Kaila, she knew she should proceed with caution, but she hadn't seen Lauren look at her that way since they were kids. "Can you trust me for just a few more days Kay? I promise that I'll be out of your life for good if we can get through this together."

Sniffling, Kaila nodded her head as she watched Lauren's face light up. "Don't worry Kay, I won't anything bad happen to you." She promised into the little girls ear. Having someone else here to comfort and protect her gave Kaila a sence of security she hadn't felt in a while.

Lifting Kaila up and placing her on her hip, Lauren whispered into Kaila's ear, "don't move." The little girl complied and laid still in her arms as Lauren walked out of the glass cage.

Swaying her arms to keep Kaila's nerves down, Lauren walked them both out of the dark room. Kaila had never felt so happy to see the white walls of Lauren's old department. Watching as they passed by doctors and Hounds she was surprised nobody minded them any focus.

Kaila turned her head towards Lauren's ear saying loud enough to get past everyone else's conversation, "where we going?"

Lauren just shushed her and patted her back. "You'll see." She muttered out quickly before pulling a straight face holding Kaila's head down against her shoulder.

Just letting it happen, Kaila continued to watch as the walls passed them by until she heard the click of a lock and a door hinge squeak. Within moments both girls were inside a small room. Unlike Lauren's old office, this one was half the size with only a small wooden desk and plastic chair.

Shutting the door behind them, Lauren sat down on her chair letting Kaila straddle her as the two met eyes. "What's happening?" Kaila curiously asked. "Thought I couldn't leave." She pointed towards the door.

"Technically speaking you weren't suppose to, but after what Dr. Todd did to you I can take you away if I want. Speaking of which I'm sorry you had to deal with him Kay. I don't know what's gotten into him. Usually he's very kind and warm with our patients, it's why I assigned him to you. I was shocked when he reported to my office and told me about your condition. I figured he would have been able to help you avoid this." She poked Kaila's red nose causing the small one to giggle. Something she hadn't done in a long time.

Night was starting to roll around faster than normal. Lauren had taken Kaila to get cleaned up in a bathroom near her office, and gave her some fresh clothes. Once they both shared a small plate Lauren was sat back in her chair with Kaila in her lap both sound asleep in one another's embrace.
