Finally being freed of the restraints Kaila took a step not expecting there to be a sharp pain shoot up her leg as she moved it off the ground. She fell to the floor grabbing hold of her leg tightly pulling it into her chest as she rubbed it up and down trying to subdue the strange sensation of a buzzing sting running along the inside of her leg.
Not being able to handle any type of pain Kaila broke out the tears card. It wasn't long before she was having an episode. All while Lauren just stood back watching in shock as the little girl in front of her was in so much pain, her face was as red as a cherry. At this point Lauren wouldn't be surprised if Kaila's face permanently stained that color seeing as she was always flushed from crying so hard.
But what made Lauren stuck in her place by the door was the fact that Kaila was crying still with no sound. The thought of how easily something so valuable could be taken away was frightening, even for her. She just stood there watching until Kaila had calmed down slightly.
Finally getting out of her trance Lauren cautiously walked over to the small girl giving her a look of sympathy without knowing it. She knew Kaila was too vulnerable at this point to care if she kept up with her strong persona, just letting herself go and letting out her natural emotions Lauren sat down in front of Kaila on the soft cushioned floor.
"Hey there Kay," Lauren's voice was timid at first. She felt nervous and anxious to talk to little Kaila again. It didn't help that the small friend let out an obvious whine as she began to turn away from Lauren.
"No don't run away. There isn't anywhere here you could run that I won't find you. So you might as well save us all the time and just sit there and listen to me for a minute." Lauren insisted as she grabbed ahold of Kaila's tiny hands in her own bringing them closer together.
At first Kaila was wary. Even having fallen into little space she was still extremely cautious around Lauren. She didn't want to be hurt anymore than she was. But she knew even if she did try to find someway to move or to attempt to get away from Lauren, all she would do is cause more pain upon herself. Deciding it was best to stay still Kaila gave in listening to Lauren speak as best as she could.
Lauren began to speak with a slow voice as if reciting a story book to a child. "Ok, so after everything that's happened within the past day, here's what's going to happen. Because I was the one who lost you originally, I have to earn my respect in this business again. To do that, my parents have allowed me to choose what punishment you'll receive."
Already Kaila regretted listening to this plan. Hearing the word punishment was setting her off as she slumped her body down, before shooting back up straight feeling the sting shoot her body once again. Her face cringed hating this feeling. Hating that she couldn't move without hurting herself.
Despite that, Lauren paid the small girl no attention and continued on with her soft story. "Originally I was going to leave you strapped on the table, and let you stay in absolute solitude for a few days but that doesn't seem like a wise idea anymor..." Lauren trailed off as she snapped her fingers when she noticed Kaila's head turning to look all around the room as if following an invisible point.
"Hey...hey!" Lauren raised her voice as she snapped playfully trying to catch Kaila's attention back to her. "Pay attention please," she warned with a firmer tone. It made Kaila tense up in the shoulders locking her arms at her sides not daring to look away.
"Good, I guess I'll just skip all the in between boring stuff and get to the point." She took a moment to look Kaila dead in the eyes, "you knew leaving my room was wrong. You knew you would be putting not only you, but your friend at risk. And you knew it would only get you in trouble. It seems like we just have ourselves a naughty girl who can't listen." Her eyebrows cocked as if challenging Kaila to deny her claim.
When Kaila just sat still pouting Lauren knew she got her. "Exactly and now because you decided to be a bad girl you are going to be treated as such. Go stand in that corner until I tell you that you can come out." She pointed towards one of the empty corners of the room.
Looking back at Kaila, Lauren wasn't surprised to see a massive pouty face. She had stuck her bottom lip out as it trembled ever so slightly with wide eyes. Her silent pleading got her nowhere. "No. You want to act like a big girl and make some very bad decisions, then you can take the big girl consequences you've earned. Now go." Lauren calmly demanded.
At that point Kaila knew there was no use to fighting it, if there was one thing she knew about Lauren, big or little, was that as soon as her scary calm voice came out there would be no changing her mind. With glass eyes Kaila looked over to the corner seeing it several feet away from her. The second she went to stand her legs below her began to shake.
By this point she knew the pain all too well. It hurt every muscle to move and with all her adrenaline from earlier gone, she was able to feel every throbbing cell moving in her legs. She tried to scream in agony but there was no use.
Lauren could only stand to see the little girl struggling so much. After a minute of watching the torturous movements, she went over to Kaila and picked her up. Kaila wanted to punch and kick to free herself but at this point she refused to hurt herself any longer. Giving in, she easily allowed Lauren to carry her to the boring corner.
Placing the small girl down facing the wall, Lauren got down on her knees and whispered in the back of her ears, "don't you dare move."
It sent shivers through Kaila's body, which she didn't mind. She needed to be reminded that she could feel other sensations other than just pain.
Letting the minutes slip by, Kaila sat staring at the wall. Meanwhile Lauren was behind her sitting on the table as she planned her next course of action. She knew the timeout was a good source of punishment, but her resentment towards Kaila for losing her position was far from over.
