ANGST

"Condolence... Joonie," Seokjin softly said as he hesitantly traveled his hand to tap his back. "At least... At least, she gets to rest now..." Seokjin didn't know if he should have really said that but not that he already did, what's the point of taking it back?

"I... I didn't expect that it would be that day. S-she looked so strong the day before. And happy... She looked fine," Namjoon said as his mournful voice rang around Seokjin's ear. He hated it. The way Namjoon was in pain. He doesn't like it. He never wanted Namjoon to be hurt like this.

"Joonie--"

"It's just... Just so painful. Y-y'know... I just..." He couldn't even formulate his words and at that, Seokjin pulled him into a hug, tapping his back softly and hummed.

"We understand... But be strong, Joonie. Even just in front of the kids. You can be weak in front of me, it's fine and you know that..." Seokjin said softly.

His heart was pained. It is pained with the fact that all he could do for Namjoon, the man that he always loves, the man that he could surrender anything for, was in front of him and wailing. He gave up so much for Namjoon's happiness and seeing him crumbling down to the depths of sorrow and agony, it pained him more. It is excruciating. It's like torture, the way he stayed here like he's fine all along.

"S-she... She's my life... Jin. You knew how much I love her. I-i thought... I thought..." Seokjin hushed him and rubbed his back as Namjoon started to cry louder this time.

"Joonie... Everything will be fine soon..."

"She's the most amazing woman I have ever met. It's so hard not to fall for her every single day. She's my everything. Our kids, they all reminded me of her and I hate myself for wanting to run away. I just... I don't know, Jin."

"Be strong... Make your wife proud. Wherever she is, I know she will love you forever like how you do," Seokjin let his words flow out of his lips like they're not acids for his own self. Like they're not poison to his heart. He used to be the one that Namjoon calls as 'his everything' and Seokjin hated the fact that it changed. Ever since their break up, he stayed beside Namjoon as a friend and watched him fall for another person whom he loved more than how he loved Seokjin.

It was painful. Everything was. But this is love. But at least, he gets to see everything about Namjoon that even that woman had never seen. He knew Namjoon more than anyone. But Seokjin won't play anymore. He's done with this game.

"I'll help with raising the kids... If it's fine." Namjoon looked at Seokjin with eyes that hurt Seokjin more. "I'm not aiming for anything, I just wanna help the kids, don't look at me like you're suspecting me of trying to win you back..." Seokjin looked away but his heart stopped with the next words that Namjoon left.

"Why? I've been wanting to ask you ever since that day. Why didn't you try to win me back? And why not now?"
