When we got the girl loaded up her friends asked
" so are you like single "
Eddie walked over and looked at me
" what "
He kinda looked between me and the girls
" God are either of you guys single "
" me no I have a kid "
He walked away and I looked over at Ruby and then back at them and said
" no I'm not now would you like to ride with your friend "
They nodded and got in I closed the doors and hit it twice. I went over and we got in and on the way back Bobby was looking at Rudy
" you know everyone kinda has a nickname "
That's usually what I say and he knew I wasn't going to say it
" so I've noticed "
She smiled and looked at me quickly than she said
" Ruby's not a good name "
" it's a great name you know cap what about two point oh "
I said and he looked back out the windshield and then Eddie said
" Yeah I like that "
I'm sure everyone had their own ideas of why I said that but my reasoning is that she reminds me of Abby but she's somehow better and I couldn't help but smile at her and she returned it.
When we got back some of the other guys told her to wash the truck and she did and didn't complain and she did an amazing job. She just walked upstairs after an hour of cleaning and the bell went off
" Why don't you sit this one out "
Bobby said as he passed her and I smiled at her as I passed.
