I woke up to the floor creaking
" What did you sleep down here silly "
He said and grabbed my hand and pulled me upstairs and then sat me at the table
" I know you don't like breakfast "
He said as he sat down with his plate and ate
" where's mama "
He smiled like a little kid
" she's out at the store "
He just sat there and stared at me for a bit then said
" time to do arts and crafts "
" what will we do "
" paint "
We got stuff and went down to the kids
" you forgot a glass silly "
I went back upstairs I was at the door and I was just about to unlock it then I thought about the kids and I grabbed a glass.
Later he went out to do something in the garage so I told them story's about my friends being firefighters and what I've heard. The sun went down and we heard him walking around upstairs and then he went to bed
" We aren't getting out are we "
Sara said
" hey don't say that ... I'm working on it ok I'm not going to let anything happen to you guys again "
They all hugged me
" ok storytime before bed "
They all got ready and I said
" ok tonight I'll tell you about four brave little kids they lived long long ago when dragons were around they were a team they would save their friends from the dragons that spit fire "
" and water "
" yes and water bud "
They added to the story and soon they were all out after I gave them there bare and I leaned against the wall again. I could see them and the stairs so I felt like I was protecting them and I didn't get hardly any sleep again.
