We stopped at two more gas stations because he would freak out if he got close to half a tank and I plugged the sink and wrote my name on the wall and 911 in both. We were getting into the desert
" Can I ask how much further "
" Just three more miles "

He smiled
" you're my girlfriend and you're a doctor silly "

Finally, we pulled up to a house in a small farming town it was a house with overgrown weeds and grass
" come on mama is so excited to meet you "
I got out and he put his hand on my back and we walked in and I heard the several locks click behind me
" Mama she's here ... yes Lavender May mama remember I said I was going to get her she's losing it a little "
He laughed and I smiled a little and he took my hand and took me to a room with an empty bed

I said and he lessened his grip and then said
" ok I'll take her to fix them now "
We tent down to the basement and he turned on the light and there were four kids two boys and two girls

I said a bunch of random vitamins then I said cinnamon bares

He taped my nose then went upstairs and locked the door behind him. I looked at the kids and they looked so scared

An hour later he came back and put the bag on the landing then closed and locked the door again
" you came on a no good night "

" When did you eat "
" two sleeps ago and we won't till for sleeps "
I grabbed the bag and there they were the bares
" ok these are spicy it's ok if you don't like them I don't "
I gave them all one then hid the bag
" ok the suns going down time for bed "
I said and they go onto the one almost gym mat and one of them asked for me to tell a story
" ok let's see there once was a boy and his name was Dax and he loved fast cars and one day he met a girl named Sara but everyone called her scar but they were at a race and they were going and going and then they went into the trees together and soon the firefighters got there and a woman called Hen saved them and said " does your mom know you're out here doing this " they laughed as they got to ride in the back of the ambulance "
They let out little laughs then they fell asleep and I fell asleep leaning against the wall. I didn't get much sleep because I kept replaying the crash in my head and how I didn't feel like I left enough clues.
