-They work like pants. So even if one of them is injured, if the mermaid switch to her other lower part, it won't be affected. Also, mermaids can change back to feet on land. But can't control changing into their tails when wet.

We left early the next day.

"Be careful," Mama said as she gave me a hug. After saying our goodbyes, we were already off the route that Ace and Kuya Roland formulate yesterday.

Our first destination is Jade City near the coast. It's a nine hour swim from the royal palace. That city is a known for having strong currents that just randomly appear. So we have to be extra careful not to be carried away.

"Princess," Lumangoy si Ace palapit sa akin at sinabayan ako. "Can I ask you something?"

"Ano?"

"I was researching about the Cordelia before I came here with you," he said. "Is it true? That the Cordelia has special ablities." Di ko naman alam na may interest pala si Ace sa mga ganitong bagay.

"Well, it brings life the ocean. It makes the corals vibrant and the currents tamer. So yeah, it does have special abilities."

"What about memories?"

"Why not? Hindi na ba ako pwedeng kumausap ng iba ngayon?" I asked.

"I don't like it," he said as his jaw clench. "I don't like it when you talk to him. Can't I be possessive of my own fiancée?"

"Possessive? Why would you be possessive? It's not like someone's gonna take me away." I can't believe what he's saying right now. I read this in most of the romance novels that I am fond of. When a guy became possessive to the girl. Nakakakilig sa nobela, pero nakakasakal sa real life. I'm fine with being possessive. Pero nasa lugar naman sana.

"I'm fucking jealous, Merina." Sabi niya.

"Then stop being jealous."

Before he could even answer, the guide spoke.

At last, we have arrived at our first destination. Magagabi na rin ng makarating kami sa Jade City. The current at Jade City were surprisingly calmer than what we expected.
