Chapter 35

~Atem's POV~

"Atem wake up!"

I let out a huff of air when I was suddenly awoken by a figure jumping on me. Not just any figure, a person; and not just any person, Yugi.

Against my will, I opened my tired eyes to look at the smiling face of my partner. I brought a hand behind his head to bring him closer to me and kissed his forehead. Without saying anything I roll over to try and sleep again.

"Atem!" Opening one eye I can see his face is puffed up like he's trying to be mad but it never works.

"Fine, fine, I'm up." I groan and sit up, Yugi's face turned up like he won a prize.

"Today's a special day!" He cheered, straddling my waist, placing his hands on my bare lower torso for support.

I rested my hands behind me and leaned against them to keep me up, pursing my lips to act like I was thinking.

"I know, it's the day you let me sleep in." I said grinning.

He pouts cutely at my words and I couldn't help but lean forward to steal a kiss, making him blush a little.

"It's your birthday silly." He giggles, running his hands up to rest on my chest.

"Well since we agreed on it, it's your birthday too little one." I lean forward and rubbed my nose against his.

He smiles at me and I smile back. We just goofily stare at each other, smiling like idiots. He leans down and I meet him half way to connect our lips in a short kiss.

Without much warning the door opens causing us to part and look towards the two approaching figures. Yugi goes to move off me but I held him in place by wrapping an arm around his hips, now leaning against one arm.

Seto walks in the room with Joey behind him like always. He doesn't question the position we are in but Joey smiles at us as if to say: we are cute.

"For starters, happy birthday both of you. We are in no rush but the dinner will be tonight during regular times, everything will be set up by the time like you asked so you don't have to worry." Seto explained.

Yugi was getting a little shy while in my lap so he nuzzled his face into the crook of my neck. I chuckled and rubbed his back soothingly while listening to my cousin.

"Thank you Seto and Joey." I smiled at both of them.

"Oh, the puppy didn't do anything." Seto teased Joey, smirking in his direction. Joey shot a glare towards him but, like Yugi's, it wasn't intimidating at all.

"You're duties have been prolonged for this week so enjoy it with Yugi." Wow, Seto is being extremely nice to me today, regardless if it's my birthday or not he's never this nice. I wonder if Joey gave him some last night or this morning.

"Now since I don't know where that position is going to lead, we'll be going, come on puppy."

Seto dragged Joey along without him saying a word, now that I look at him Joey seems a little out of it, like he was given some this morning.

I laugh as Yugi makes a whine in embarrassment, kissing his temple softly. Our two friends leave us alone again and the room is silent.

"Why don't we take a bath before breakfast?" I keep my voice low since I am right by his ear.

I feel him nod against me but makes no move. I roll my eyes and scoot off the bed, bringing him into my arms bridal style to carry him to bathroom.

I set on the ground to start filling up the tub. While it is I see Yugi adding the scents and rose petals. I smile at my lover and pull him in my the hips, smacking my lips against him.
