Chapter 46
"If you fall in love with their soul before you touch their skin, it's true love."

Aurora didn't know what to think of the situation. Not that it was a situation, but she couldn't help but think of everything as a situation. But here she is, sitting next to her adoptive father on the way back to the states, staring at the familiar paint job of the semi truck. No words were spoken between the group of humans and the Prime, they all just sat in silence taking in the past events.
They had successfully stopped Quintessa from bringing Cybertron to Earth, Megatron was god knows where and the old man who aided in bringing both Cade and Aurora to London, was dead. The woman glanced down the row of seats along the side of the plane, taking in everyone's tired expressions and some sleeping faces. Cade Yeager sat next to Vivian glancing at the staff the brunette held on her lap every once in a while, before staring back a head at the truck.
"They miss you, you know?" Aurora glanced over at the man beside her, "Annabelle would watch the news just so she could see your face. It was different- not having you around all the time." Aurora smiled and leaned her head against the wall of the plane, her gaze moving to the talisman that graced her wrist.
"I missed them too," Aurora replied as she traced the writing of the talisman. "but I don't regret what I did." Will's eyes were trained on the girl he had taken in years ago, "I never lost my faith in them. I almost did, but I knew he was out there somewhere." The two looked over to the truck that was parked in front of them, no noise coming from it signaling that the Prime had finally fallen into recharge, a very, very needed recharge.
Will knew what it was to be in love with someone, and he knew if he was ever placed in her position, he would've done everything in his willpower to help. Sure in the beginning he was concerned about the growing relationship between the Autobot leader and his adoptive daughter, with Optimus being a giant alien, metal robot and Aurora a small human girl with part of a spark to keep her alive. But in the end, Will only managed to see how much the two cared for each other, how deep their love for each other went, excluding the differences between themselves.
Aurora sat on a table in the large hanger, a bucket next to her and a sponge in her hand as she watched the group of cars drive towards her.
"You get stuck on bath duty?" Epps asked as he walked past her, only receiving a huff from the newly graduated female. Robert chuckled and continued on his way to William who kept staring at the girl as she stood from the desk, adjusting her black tank top and shorts.
"Look at her," Will mumbled, Epps furrowed his eyebrows and turned to look at the girl, Aurora stood on top of one of Optimus' wheels and leaned over his hood scrubbing away at his hood. "It was a dumb idea to stick bath duty on her." He grumbled, faintly hearing the Prime and the girl talk as she washed him down.
Epps rolled his eyes and slapped his hand onto his friend's shoulder, "Get over it, man. She's a grown girl, and Optimus is a good guy."
Will and Epps watched as Bumblebee carefully lifted the girl onto the top of the semi truck, allowing her to scrub the disgusting bird shit off the roof of the Prime.
"That must suck," Aurora said as she dipped the sponge in the warm soapy water before going back to scrubbing the bird shit. "having birds shit on you." A shiver racked the girls body as she thought about the same thing happening to her.
"You get used to it, I'm afraid." The Prime replied, trying to ignore the fact that his fans where working overtime.
Aurora cringed at the thought as she scrubbed, once she was satisfied the girl carefully scaled her way down the back of the cab and landed on the ground, dropping the sponge back in the bucket. Aurora didn't even notice the drivers side door swing open and the all familiar male stepping out and standing next to her as she searched for any dirt and mud she may have missed.
Will's eyes widened as the male next to the girl began to scan her body, "Not on my watch..." The man went to step forward but a hand was quick to catch his bicep. His gaze, reluctantly moved from his daughter and to the person who held his arm. "Epps, just look at him."
Epps looked over to see the girl smiling at the tall black haired man as she hosed down the flamed truck, "Leave her be, man."
Will smiled as the memory played in his mind, he did leave the two be and here they were now. Aurora and Optimus were happily married, even though most of their time spent together was running from the government and Decepticons. But those were the same things that brought them together, "Sometimes the bad things that happen in our lives put us directly on the path to the best things that will ever happen to us." Aurora's mother used to tell her all the time, the same thing the girl could think of after her death.
"I'm proud of you."
Those words caught the girl off-guard, Aurora turned in her seat and stared at the man beside her. How could someone be proud of someone for making the worlds most wanted list for simply helping people find safety.
"Huh?" She questioned, her face only reading confusion which made the man chuckle and pat her knee. "You're proud of me? For breaking the law?"
"No, kid." Will laughed at the expression that covered her face, "For finding someone worth fighting for." Aurora's mouth formed an 'O' as a blush started to cover her face at his words "What you and Optimus have, is rare, not many people are that dedicated each other. And," Will laughed lightly as he looked between the truck and his daughter "I'm proud that he found his way back to you. What you guys have is true love, and that overcomes anything."
Aurora's blue eyes simply stared at her adoptive father before she reached over and wrapped her arms around his neck and embracing him tightly. Will smiled and wrapped his arms around the girl and rubbed her back, in attempt to calm her down as he felt the girl shake with quiet sobs.
Emotions hit the young woman like a tidal wave, for years she held in her emotions trying to be strong for the other Autobots after the loss of her friends and her family. Aurora over the years, closed herself off to everyone around her, she felt that people were relying on her and she needed to be there for them and not worry about herself. And now here she was, crying on her fathers shoulder with other soldiers staring at her in confusion.
"I love you, sweetheart." Will told her, rubbing her back and rocking her back and forth.
Aurora smiled despite the tears that flowed down her face, "I love you too."
