"I have to go." It came as a hushed whisper, trying to keep his voice quiet on some off chance that it would be heard. Didn't care that he was currently making a fool of himself as he used his own hand to shield he face as he weaved in and out of crowed tables, narrowing avoiding each and every collision. Ducked beneath a heavy tray carried by a server with such precision that only someone who'd had years of practice could ever have pulled off. Twisted just in time to miss another and whispered a hurried apology.

It was only once he was safely out on the street that it felt like he could actually take in any air. Leaning back against the rough brick exterior, he waited for Hoseok to follow, knowing that he would likely be coming in the following minutes. What was worse is he probably wouldn't even ask for an explanation. No, he would only care that Seokjin was alright, and offer to go somewhere else.

Maybe they could just get some street food. That sounded good. Sounded safe. Much less likely to run into whatever in the hell Jungkook was to him.

"Seokjin." His eyes had fallen closed. They had fallen closed and good lord did he regret it now. The moment he heard that voice and they popped open and he twisted his head to find the source he regretted it. So completely and utterly that he actually wished he could go back in time and change it. His only saving grace was that the owner of said voice was alone, and he wasn't going to have to live out his shame in front of any one else.

"Jungkook." It had been actual months. He knew because he had counted. Part of him had thought that it wouldn't take that long. But most of him knew that was wishful thinking.

All of him knew that was being foolish.

"You changed your number." Actually he had just gotten a new phone. Had taken a hammer to the old one and completely smashed it without even backing anything up. An embarrassing fact that he had never mentioned to another living soul.

"I did." Because what else was there to do? Why did it even matter? "Changed my address too."

"Why didn't you tell me?" He laughed at that. Actually laughed without even knowing why. Except it was suddenly hilarious.

"You know why." Was he just supposed to keep himself available forever? A never ending span of time where he just waited. Where his entire life revolved around the next time Jungkook was lonely?

Jimin was why. All of this was why.

"We broke up a month later." But it had already been too late by then, hadn't it? He had worked so fast. Had transformed his entire life in the blink of an eye. And silently he wondered if he was going to have to do it again.

"I can tell." He was almost proud of himself for how sarcastic he sounded. For the amount of disbelief contained within his voice. "And look how long that lasted."

"Baby -" He could feel it. That presence closing in on him. Eating away at his self control. Making him want to give in and submit. Just like he always had. Just like he eventually always would.

"Isn't your boyfriend waiting for you?" Where was Hoseok? Why wasn't he coming to save him?

"Maybe it's time he's not my boyfriend anymore." Those words should not make him react the way they did. Should not have his heart skipping a beat inside of his chest and a whimper falling from swollen lips.

"What are you -" But the words never made it out.

"Jungkook." He flinched at the sound of Jimin's voice, and realized far too late what position they had ended up in. Jungkook's hand wrapped around his throat with his body hovering over him, both of his own hands pressed against strong shoulders like he didn't know weather to push him away or draw him further in.
