Sometimes there was no reason.
Sometimes things simply were. There was no cause that had resulted in that particular effect. There was nothing that had made it be the way it was. Sometimes, things just were.
There could be no explanation because none existed.
The could be no answers because there was no reason.
There had been so one moment that had made this happen. No catastrophe that had forced some change. There was no root cause.
Somethings simple were.
And what he was, was an infection. There was no other way to explain it. No other way to put it into words. An infection that seeped into everything it touched and spread endlessly, until it had completely taken over. Until it had claimed all within it's path and left it barren. Moving from one victim to the next, never really caring about the destruction it left behind.
An infection that crept into the heart and slowly and effectively destroyed it.
There was no reason. No explanation. That was simply what he was. What he had always been. And what he would continue to be until the end of time.
There was no reason. There was never going to be a reason.
