THIRD PERSON'S POV.

River hurried down the staircase of Anubis House, KT's key in her hand as she showed it to Alfie and Patricia who she joined upon reaching the entrance hall.

"You found the key?" Alfie asked her.

"Yeah, I got it," River confirmed.

"We have to get back to the crypt and get them out," Patricia said.

"And fast before ten o'clock strikes."

"Why don't we go down to the crypt the tunnel way?" Alfie suggested.

"We have a problem," Patricia pointed out with a sigh, gesturing to the cellar door behind the group. River and Alfie followed her gaze and both sighed at the sight of the large padlock on the cellar door. "The cellar door's been Victored."

"We're still on lockdown."

"Looks like we're gonna be taking another trip into the woods," River voiced with a strained smile.

"You guys ready for a midnight hike?" Patricia inquired.

"Ninjas and midnight hikes are like that," Alfie said. He crossed his fingers before attempting a kick, but only caused more damage when he hit the table that held the landline.

"Alfie!" River scolded him.

"Careful," Patricia piped in.

"Sorry," Alfie apologized.

River glanced up to the office, assuming to find Victor storming out of there with a frown from the ruckus Alfie caused. Instead, the office was dark and empty.

"Weird," muttered River with a confused frown while her friends followed her gaze. "Victor isn't in his office and there are only thirty minutes until ten."

"Where is he?" Patricia mused.

"Yeah, that's all I care about," Alfie sarcastically remarked.

"Well, the longer he isn't here, the safer it is for us," River said with a shrug.

"Don't you think this is a little too easy?" Patricia asked.

"Personally, I'm a fan of the easy way."

"Me too," Alfie agreed. "I never worry about too easy. Come on."
