"W-what, Kyo. . .Kyoka-" Ashido fumbled with her phone and tried to call her back but she never picked up.
"Where did she say she was at?" Yaoyorozu panicked as Sero came over.
"She doesn't know," Ashido felt like her chest was being squelched under a mallet.
"What'd Jirou say?" Sero asked.
"Something's wrong, the line was dropped," Yaoyorozu clasped her hands over her mouth.
"She hung up?" Sero looked over Ashidos shoulder, noticing she was trembling.
"She was screaming, I don't even want to know what they're doing to her and Kami," Ashido gasped, fighting back her overwhelming hysteria. "She didn't tell me where she was, so we have no clue where to look."
Sero took Ashido's phone and immediately opened Snapchat, confusing both the girls.
"Hanta, what are you-"
"There," he held the screen up to them, Jirou's last location was within Yamikohaku Hospital.
"Yamikohaku has been closed for years, hasnt it?" Ashido asked puzzled.
(Fun Fact: Yami means darkness, and kohaku means amber. It's very made up because I'm not Japanese but Yamikohaku Hospital just means Dark Amber Hospital.)
Yaoyorozu was the first to shove open the doors, startling both Ashido and Sero in her sudden unnatural outburst.
"Momo, we cant just go outside at this time," Ashido pleaded as Yaoyorozu whipped herself around, disregarding how chilly it was outside.
"You heard her on the call," Yaoyorozus voice broke when she failed to hide her worry. "I'm not losing her again," she pulled out her phone, sprinting across the sidewalk in her night clothes and slippers.
Ashido dove outside after her, Sero trailed after, dialing the police as the three of them wandered into the dead silent streets of Musutafu.
Earlier
His heart was racing.
Nothing fucking works, I really am weak.
A bright light blinded his eyes when the same bat-eared man loomed over his face. Dr. Komori, he remembered from their first encounter, but after fleeing from that creepy, double jointed, spider lady, he'd lost sight of him in all the chaos.
"Rokkaku, I'll draw blood and let you kill him, how does that sound?" Dr. Komori yanked Kaminari's head to the side, plucking a few strands of hair.
"I really can't have some fun with him first?" The tall woman inquired affectionately.
"I prefer if he died immediately."
"Awe," she gave a sad sigh. "What can I use?"
"Whatever you prefer, my dear," the doctor took a needle which terrified the shit out of Kaminari. His body itched feeling the anger and stress build up in his body. Just a little taze, a short painful zap, that was all he needed for them to go unconscious. But there were too many people in the room now, and with the addition of the pink, rubber tank standing next to Jirou, it made it even more difficult. He could easily send a powerful surge of electricity throughout the entire building to fry everyone immediately, but the problem with his stupid quirk was that his electricity didnt care who he favored or not. It'd hurt Jirou as well.
"No, no stop, dont hurt him-" Jirou pleaded before her head was yanked back and duct tape was used to keep her quirk stationary and her voice quiet.
"Awe~ You're awfully noisy, just sit back and watch the show, honey," Rakkaku loomed her head above Jirou, clutching onto her hair like it was merely horse reigns. She forced Jirou straight so she'd watch in horror as her best friend died.
Before he knew it a cold needle slipped into his arm, he glanced over at the doctor.
Damnit, rubber gloves.
As long as all this rubber kept his power insulated, he couldn't use it. Soon enough, he drew a single vial of his blood, as well as samples of his hair. Why they wanted his hair and blood he didnt know, but that was the least of his concerns.
"My turn?" The spider lady asked impatiently.
"Your turn," Dr. Komori nodded simply.
The lady twisted her neck to meet Kaminari's eyes enthusiastically.
"Too bad your little quirk didn't kill me. Call this revenge for nearly electrocuting me," she cackled manically.
Jirou lurched forward in her chair with aggressive and panicked muffling noises, making the seat teeter unbalanced. Gumo gripped the back of her chair, holding it down with a palm.
She began to cry out painful sobs.
Kaminari glanced at Rokkaku's hands, then watched as she drew her finger tips toward a large medical scalpel. His breathing quickened, Jirou's crying only grew more frantic and desperate, he felt the cold, unforgiving edge of the blade along his neck when she cocked his head to the side.
"I'll make sure its slow and full of agony," she said simply, spoken like a true, sadistic murderer.
"And I'll make sure you stay down this time," Kaminari breathed a reply, stunning her through the bare hand that held his head in place. Rukkaku dropped the scalpel as the area flashed a blazing yellow.
The room fell silent as she crumpled like a bug onto the floor.
"Yamikohaku's been closed since All Mights fight two years back, the entire subdivision was ruined when he fought All For One, how could they be there?" Ashido asked as they tramped through the streets, reaching their destination after running a solid 4 miles.
"I wouldn't know," Yaoyorozu stopped at the gate, winded out. Sero arrived last, handing Ashido back her phone.
"I called the authorities and told them to come to Yamikohaku," Sero said between breathes. The front yard of the hospital was decimated and filled with overgrown grass that brushed their legs and made them shiver.
"We're here, but they could literally be on any of the six floors," Ashido panicked, watching Yaoyorozu turn away to open her button up night shirt, sparkles appeared in front of her as three objects fell to the ground.
"What are those?" Sero asked when she reclosed her shirt, picking up the object.
"Thermal infrared goggles," Yaoyorozu handed them each a pair, slipping on her own pair. "They pick up the heat signatures of anyone nearby, we'll find them this way."
"Momo, this is amazing," Ashido slipped her pair on, awe stricken at how crazy intelligent her friend had to be to create one of these.
Sero slipped his pair on last, gazing around the area. After All Might's last fight, this entire subdivision became a wasteland, and the city hadn't renovated it in order to preserve All Mights legacy and history. The problem with that was that since all of these buildings were ignored, people had lost jobs, homes, and new thugs had found the desolate buildings great places to hide. His eyes landed on a small ball of faint, orange-red on the far left of the hospital.
"Third floor," Sero said, shifting Ashido and Yaomomo so they'd see as well.
"Take us up there," Yaoyorozu insisted.
"But I dont know how many people are actually inside, or if our friends are actually there," Sero said with uncertainty.
Yaoyorozu pulled up her sleeve, sparkles emanated from her forearm as she caught little smoke grenades in her other hand.
"We'll have the element of surprise," Yaoyorozu gave them a look of determination, worn out breathes escaped her mouth from creating so many intricate items. "We might not know their quirks, but all we need to do is stall," she held out grenades for each of them.
Ashido couldn't stop her fingers from trembling from nervousness, but she extended an arm, clutching onto a grenade and gripping onto her friend's hand.
"Let's go get our friends back," Ashido said.
