Namjoon's POV

I close the front door softly behind me as I enter the apartment, before locking it. I know I have to be quiet, since it's late and Seokjin's probably asleep, so I take off my shoes and coat and put them away, then make my way to our bedroom. Just as I thought, he's laying in bed, facing away from me. I quickly change out of my uniform, stripping down to my boxers and putting on a tank top, and slip under the duvet beside him.

Huh, that's weird. Even when he's fast asleep, he'll always move a little closer to me when I get into bed, but today, nothing. Maybe he's just... no. If he was sick, he'd be even clingier than usual. Not wanting to disturb him, just in case he is asleep, I fold the corner of his pyjama shirt down slightly to reveal some of his shoulder, and kiss it gently. I do it every night, kiss him somewhere around the neck or the shoulders, so I know it won't wake him. But I can tell within a couple of minutes, where I zone out a little and focus on the sound of his breathing, that he's not sleeping anyway.

"Hyung," I say softly, resting my chin on his shoulder. "I know you're awake. Talk to me."

He doesn't reply.

"Please, baby?" I kiss him again, this time on the neck. "I just wanna talk."

Still nothing. I give a gentle sigh, deciding it'd be best just to leave him alone. So, with nothing better to do, I close my eyes and let myself relax. If there's one good thing about working late, it's that I can sleep as soon as I come home, and I only have to do it once a month.

After letting my thoughts have free roam of my brain for a few minutes, I eventually begin to drift off, huddled up close to my boyfriend to keep warm. Since it's October now, it's started to get pretty cold at night, so having someone else in bed with me really helps. But, as I'm falling asleep, he says something.

"Hm?" I hum, hoping that he'll at least repeat it for me.

"I love you."

"That's it? You're not mad that I was late home?"

He chuckles a little, and runs his fingers briefly through my hair. "Of course not, Joonie."

"Then why weren't you saying anything before?"

"I was just... doing some thinking... Nothing to worry about."

"Alright," a yawn escapes my lips, and I also turn over, letting him hug me from behind. "Night, hyung."

"Goodnight, Joon."
