Yoongi's POV
I wake up the next morning alone in bed, yet the mark where Jin had been laying hasn't fully disappeared yet, so he can't have been up for long. I wait for a few more minutes, just lying still, waiting to see if he'll come back, before dragging myself out of bed. I pause when I get to the closet, resisting the urge to grab one of his shirts or hoodies and put it on, and instead opt for just one of my plain, long-sleeved t-shirts and a pair of knee-length shorts.
Once I'm out of the tiny bedroom, I start to look around to see where he is. Luckily, he has this habit of either humming or singing when he's getting ready in the morning, so it's not hard to find him. He's in the kitchen, his back to me as he makes coffee, just like every morning. I approach him slowly, then wrap my arms around him and bury my face in his shoulder.
"Yoongi-ah, what's wrong?" he questions, perplexed. For a moment, I struggle to find the words I want to say. There are just so many in my head, and I don't know which ones need to be said first.
"I-I don't want to lose you. I said it already, I fucked up, I j-just..." I trail off, unable to continue through my choked sobs. He shrugs me off, turns around, reaches out to pull me into a hug, and starts rubbing my back. "I love you so much, hyung, a-and I don't want things to end like this."
"Baby, relax." he whispers, making a soft hushing sound and kissing the top of my head. "C'mon, come and sit down and talk to me."
I don't move, letting him carry me over to the couch. Once sitting, he pulls me into his lap, and starts to run his fingers through my hair. "Yoongi, why do you feel like you did something wrong?"
"B-Because you started hanging out with Taehyung, a-and it felt l-like you didn't have time f-for me anymore, and i-instead of talking about it, I l-lashed out and told you to leave."
"Which is fair enough." he, for some reason, doesn't sound mad. He sounds... disappointed? "It isn't your fault, Gi, it's mine."
"B-But-"
"Let me finish." he kisses my forehead. "I'm the one who fucked up. I've been gone all day, every day for the past 2 months, and I didn't tell you anything."
Pausing for a moment, he smiles, and wipes away my tears. "Don't cry, Yoon. You're so much prettier when you're not crying."
"Y-You think I'm ugly?" I mumble jokingly.
"Of course not. You're gorgeous, no matter what. You're just more gorgeous when you're happy."
"Still, I should've told you it was bothering me..."
"Hey, look at me." he grabs my chin, looking into my eyes. "You did absolutely nothing wrong, so don't blame yourself. And I do have a reason why I've been out so much, and it's not because I'm cheating on you with Tae."
I sniffle, wiping my eyes with my sleeve. "W-What's the reason?"
"Don't worry about it."
"No, I wanna know."
He gives a hum, pecks my lips softly. "Well I guess I could tell you. Or maybe I could... show you?"
I don't say anything after that, just watching as he takes a note out of his pocket and hands it to me. I read it, then look up at him. "'Check behind the coffee machine', what does that mean?"
"It means, check behind the coffee machine."
Confused, I get up and walk over to the device, pulling it away from the wall slightly. There's another note behind it. "Is this some scavenger hunt?" I roll my eyes playfully, glaring back at my boyfriend.
"Just do what the note says."
Giving a sigh, I go into our room and sit on the bed, just like the note tells me to. Seokjin follows me, arms folded across his chest as he gives me a smug look. There's another note on my pillow, and I pick it up. 'Turn around and close your eyes' - it says. I do it.
"Okay, now turn around again."
I open my eyes, then swivel so I'm facing him again. He's on his knees on the floor, smiling, and reaches for my hands. "Yoongi, I'm so sorry I made you feel like you weren't good enough. I want you to know that you are good enough. You're beautiful, funny, smart - the list goes on - and you work so hard to make sure this relationship works." he pauses, smiling sadly. "And I haven't exactly been doing that, especially over the last two months. But I want you to know that I'm really sorry, and I'm willing to make it up to you. Any way you want, I'll make it right."
"You promise?"
He pecks my lips. "I promise."
"Was there... any other reason you put the notes out?" I hint, pouting slightly. "Cause that speech kinda sounded like a spur-of-the-moment thing."
"Well yeah, there was..." he glances at the floor, then looks up at me doubtfully. "I've spent the last 2 months getting ready, so I guess I should just ask... Yoongi, will you marry me?"
It takes me a few seconds to process it, but then I give a nervous laugh. "Y-You... You mean it?"
He nods, eyes bright and hopeful.
"Yeah," I grin at him. "Yeah, I'll marry you."
We both lean forward to let our lips meet in a soft, slow kiss, moving in perfect sync with one another. I've really missed this, just the two of us sitting down and talking about our feelings, opening up to each other. The key to a successful relationship is communication, so I'm glad we've sorted that out now.
After that, Tuesday night became the night we sit and talk, just us and nobody else. We talk about whatever's on our minds, about work, about our wedding, anything we want. Sometimes, if we're tired, we don't even talk, we just lie in bed and cuddle. Anything to strengthen our relationship.
"Yoonie,"
"Mm?"
Jin smiles at me, though he looks uneasy. "I don't exactly have a ring for you yet... I went to buy one and found this really nice one, but they didn't have your size so I had to order one, and it hasn't turned up yet."
"I don't care about a piece of jewellery, I care about you."
