Jungkook's POV
A small pout gracing my lips, I give a sigh. It's Valentine's Day, but since there's a pandemic going on, I'm stuck at home. The worst part is that it's still early in the day, and Seokjin isn't here because he's out grocery shopping with Taehyung, so I've got nothing to do. Video games would be fun, but I'm pretty sure at least two of the other members are sleeping, and the best part about any video game is the music.
I'm tired too, but I don't want to sleep. Jin and I were talking and watching videos together until the early hours of the morning, so we didn't get much sleep, and I'll probably regret it in a few hours.
"Jungkook-ssi,"
I turn to see Yoongi standing in the doorway, a dishcloth over his left shoulder and a wooden spoon in his hand.
"I'm cooking, do you want anything?"
"I'm not hungry," I shake my head, yawning. "Thanks though."
A little while later, I hear the front door open, so I quickly lie down and pretend to be asleep. Jin-hyung comes in a few minutes later and sits beside me, running his fingers through my hair.
"You're adorable," he whispers, and I can hear the smile on his face. "I love you so much, Koo."
I let my eyes flutter open, and display a sleepy grin as his eyes meet mine. "I love you too."
"I knew you weren't asleep. You breathe different when you're sleeping."
"You know too much about me if you focus on my breathing." I chuckle, letting him kiss me.
"Well I technically raised you, didn't I? Me and the other members, we've been your family for 7 years."
"I guess you did,"
It's silent for a few moments, with me just letting him play with my hair like he does sometimes. Even though we're not in an ideal situation - gay, living in South Korea with other gay men, in the midst of a global pandemic (speaking of which, wash your damn hands people and wear a mask) - I still appreciate how lucky we are. And being stuck at home with a disease circulating, you learn to appreciate the little things. Things you normally wouldn't even acknowledge. Like your favourite shirt being clean, or having just enough milk left in the bottle for that extra cup of coffee when you're really tired.
"I know things are gonna be different than usual," Jin tells me, smiling. "But we're still having a Valentine's Day date."
"But what about the others?"
"I knew you'd say that, so I already talked to them. I'm cooking dinner for you tonight and then we're gonna come back in here and watch a movie. The others have agreed to stay out of the way while we eat, and they'll probably use the space after."
That evening...
3rd Person POV
"Thank you for cooking for me, hyungie." smiles the younger. He and Seokjin have just finished dinner - lamb bulgogi and steamed rice with assorted vegetables - and the latter is rounding up all of the dishes to wash them. It doesn't really seem fair that he's doing everything, and Jungkook's tried to take over dishwashing duty, but he isn't having it.
"You're welcome, baby." Jin says, stacking the plates and cutlery in the sink. "What movie do you wanna watch?"
"You can pick, I don't mind."
They settle on 'Memento Mori' (having already seen the first instalment, 'Whispering Corridors', but never the second), and after selecting the DVD from the cabinet - along with the third and fourth instalments in case they want to watch them after - the black-haired male takes it back to his and Seokjin's bedroom while the elder finishes washing the dishes. Once he's done, he joins him, sitting beneath the blanket and wrapping an arm tightly around him.
As the night progresses, and they switch from the second film to the third, and the third to the fourth, nothing changes. They just sit there, warm and happy, beneath the covers - aside from when there's a frightening scene that causes Jungkook to hide his face in his boyfriend's neck. Even when the sound of muffled moans and dirty talk - ah, the advantages of thin walls - enters the room, all they can focus on is the movies and each other.
"Baby," Jin whispers as they're around halfway into the fourth movie, noticing how the younger - now sitting in his lap - has gone heavy and quiet in his arms. The lack of response causes him to chuckle and reach for the remote, trying to stay as still as possible so he doesn't wake his lover up whilst turning off the TV.
"Alright, bedtime." he says, stroking the boy's hair briefly before carefully laying him down and tucking him in. A discontented whine escapes Jungkook's lips as he lets go, to which he presses a gentle kiss to his forehead. "3 minutes, love, that's all I need."
True to his word, three minutes later, he climbs into bed beside him and pulls him close, sighing happily. It may not have been the most ideal or original Valentine's Day, but it's definitely going to be a memorable one.
