Plot: Jungkook is misunderstood, an outcast. No one wants anything to do with him. But then someone new enters his life, someone who manages to break down all of the walls he's built around himself.

Story:

Jimin's POV

Throwing my bag over my shoulder, I hurriedly make my way over to the dance studios. My business class ran late, but I always visit the studio after school. I have been for about 3 months now, just to see the same person day after day.

I think his name's Jungkook, but I'm not really sure. All I know is, he's an amazing dancer. I'll admit, our styles are different - I'm a contemporary dancer, whereas he's more in the hip-hop field - but it's still fun to watch. My friends say it's creepy (apart from Taehyung, who just tells me to talk to him), but I don't care. I like seeing him dance. Dance, no matter the style, is a method of expression, and beauty is in the eye of the beholder. And in my opinion, it's beautiful.

Apart from his name and dance style, I know nothing about him. I've asked pretty much everyone I'm associated with in school - my friends, their friends, everyone in all my classes - so I can try and build a profile, but no one knows anything. He's an enigma.

He's so talented. He hits every beat perfectly, and his body pulses along with the music. God, I could stay here all day. I sometimes wonder what he's like when he isn't dancing though. We're both majoring in dance, but we only see each other for about 10 minutes while we wait for our teachers, then we split into groups based on what style we're doing. There were a few months at the start of the first semester when we were all together, but it was just learning the basics of each dance style, and I never worked with Jungkook.

Sighing, I turn around and begin to walk away. Maybe we wouldn't get along after all. I doubt we have anything in common.

---

It's Tuesday, meaning my last class is dance. And since it's already in the studios, I don't have far to go. The hip-hop group are only three doors down, after all, so I can just grab my bag and walk out. Sure enough, Jungkook's still in there, practicing. I take a deep breath and push the door open, walking inside. My footsteps echo against the floor, yet he seemingly can't hear them.

I walk further into the room and set my stuff down in the corner, near but not right next to his, then crouch beside my bag and open it. "Mind if I join you?"

"I-I, uh..." he's clearly startled, and just stares at my bag. "S-Sorry, I just... didn't expect anyone to come in. I normally practice alone."

"Fair enough," I shrug, taking my sneakers out of my bag and putting them on. He's looking at what I'm taking off, so I smile. "Contemporary."

"Y-You look like you'd suit contemporary."

"What's that supposed to mean?" I challenge, jokingly glaring at him. He clearly doesn't pick up on my humour, as his face flushes beet-red and he starts trying to justify himself.

"N-No, I didn't mean- I meant you've got the physique of a contemporary dancer. Even the way you walk, you look like you've been trained pretty strictly."

"Yeah, I guess I have." I mumble, getting up and starting to stretch the same way I would in class. I notice him watch as I do, but I don't acknowledge it. He seems shy and introverted, so I don't want to scare him.

"S-So, um, why... what made you come in here?"

"You looked lonely. Thought you might want someone to be around, even if you don't want to talk."

A month later...

Jungkook's POV

Panting, I rush into the dance studio to find Jimin-hyung already waiting for me, one leg straightened with his foot beside his head.

"Sorry," I bow, my face flushing beet-red. "Art ran late again."

"It's fine," he smiles gently, causing my blush to deepen. He and I have been on a few dates together, but nothing's official yet.

"Oh, yeah, I have to show you something." he stops stretching and goes over to his bag, taking out an envelope. "Here, read it."

Once I've read it, I look up at him, eyes full of disbelief. It's an invitation for him to perform at our school's Winter Showcase, the most looked-forward to event of the whole year. "You're kidding... This is amazing!"

We both embrace one another in a tight hug, wearing beaming grins. After we separate, he takes my hands.

"You are coming, right?"

"Yeah, of course." I say excitedly. "I'll be there, 100%."

"Good," Jimin glances at the ground and looks up again, a twinkle in his eye. "Because I won't be able to do anything without my dance partner."

"B-But... I wasn't invited, so how would I..."

"I spoke to the dean, he said it was fine."

"Still... I'm not nearly as good as you. Contemporary isn't something I'm very good at."

"Which is why we're doing a fusion dance. Contemporary and hip-hop, in the same routine, to show our individual strengths and how we work as a collective. Trust me, you'll want to be there. I want you to be there... as my boyfriend."

My jaw drops. "A-Are you serious? Well I- Hyung, I'm gonna do something crazy, but just go with it, okay?"

He nods. Lifting a hand, I cup his chin and lean in closer until our lips touch. It's only brief, but it's enough to ignite fireworks in my stomach.

10 months later...

3rd Person POV

Since that day, Jimin and Jungkook have been officially dating. They've gone out in public for some dates, spent some inside, done some interesting things to keep themselves busy. Even when Jungkook went away with his family for spring break, they kept in touch through phone and video calls, and even now they text each other every day.

"Why'd you ask me to meet you here?" questions the elder, taking a seat on the steps outside the university. He graduated a couple of months ago, but Jungkook's still got one more year until he finishes.

"We first met here," Jungkook smiles, taking his hand. "Right where we're sat. I was feeling shitty, and it was raining, so you came and sat with me with an umbrella. Then, when I started dancing after school, you started dancing with me."

"Good memories."

"But the thing I'm most grateful for," the brunet sighs, "is how you made me feel normal, and you continue to do so every day. I was lonely, an outcast, but you made everything okay."

"And I'm grateful we met in the first place."

"Thank you for knocking down those walls."
