Chapter 13

~• Faith Endurance and
Belief

❤❤❤

"Strange are the matters of believers. For him there is good in all his affairs, and this is so only for the believer. When something pleasing happens to him, he is grateful (shukr), and that is good for him; and when something displeasing happens to him he is enduring patience (sabr) and that is good for him."

[ Sahih Muslim ]

She knocked at the door lightly, there was no answer nor was she going to wait for the permission to get in so pushing it slowly with the tip of her finger she walked in to the room.

"Oh Hera,Assalamualaikum".He was shuffling with some papers on his desk but stopped immediately as he saw her. Muttering a reply to him she stood at the same spot.

" The school is over you are not going home,is everything alright"?

"Today I have come to you not as your student but as a distraught daughter. Only you can free me of this grief Ustadh". She clenched her hands in impotent rue.

He took off his glasses and slowly wiped his puffy eyes with the corner of his handkerchief while she sat down stiffly on the chair opposite to him.He looked gloomy and pale.

" Your mother will tell you soon".

"I am done waiting and I am not leaving until you tell me".May be she thought it was the last chance so she gathered all her courage and remained firm.

" Only your mother has the right to let you know and she will answer all your questions before you move to the city. You have remained patient for so long don't lose it when just a little more remains".

She wrestled with her reluctance to stand up,all sweaty and shaky she walked out of his room.

"Hera you look upset is something bothering you"? She looked at Yasmeen with emptiness. There was a huge cloud of insecurities, sadness, loneliness, bindings, and all that she was hiding from the world, that was looming over her head.

" Nothing, I am alright Alhamdulillah". May be that's what the most strong soldiers of Allah do. No matter what battle they fight from inside but on outside they smile to the world."You tell how's everything on your side"?

She scooted closer in her seat,"I have something important to tell you".

"You are getting married on..." ? A smile quirked his lips.

"How do you know I was going to tell you that"?

" Because this is the same sentence you had told me before informing about your engagement ".She chuckled briefly, the smile lingering behind her eyes.In response Yasmeen gave her the most beautiful smile.

" I will be getting married after three weeks of my exams...".

Hera pulled her into a hug before she could finish,"If only words could convey how much happy I am for you.May Allah bless you with a happy married life one that is filled with love, tranquility and trust".

"Ameen" Responded Yasmeen quietly.

The huge townhouse was hidden behind high walls and divided into various sections for men, women and servants.

He leaned on the old wether beaten sandstone,They felt thin and veined, frozen by a hundred winters, baked by a hundred summers. They smelled of dust and age. Men were sitting in the front room, while the women were busy preparing evening meals. He had told his family about the girl whom he was willing to marry and to discuss that his family had arranged a meeting today. He entered the room where all the elder members of the townhouse were gathered, they were sitting on the floor in a semicircle on thick mats.
