He Promised Her The Sky
And She Looked Down

" There's something amazing about this life. The very same worldly attribute that causes us pain is also what gives us relief: Nothing here lasts. What does that mean? It means that the breathtakingly beautiful rose in my vase will wither tomorrow. It means that my youth will neglect me. But it also means that the sadness I feel today will change tomorrow. My pain will die. My laughter won't last forever but neither will my tears. We say this life isn't perfect. And it isn't. It isn't perfectly good. But, it also isn't perfectly bad, either."

Rashid seemed to be growing impatient as he gave a quick glance at his golden Calvin Klein wrist watch for the umpteenth time.He wanted to let out a loud scream of frustration, but he somehow controlled the urge to scream. She was suppose to meet him over an hour ago and even after promising to be here in thirty minutes, there was still no sign of her.
He spent the time watching others taking available tables and hungry people stuffing themselves with the food as the minutes crawled by. He was well past three cups of coffee in the last one hour and was so exhausted that he just wanted to go ahead, have the food and head home straight away but he couldn't dare to even imagine the consequences his action will lead to.So,there was only one option left - keep waiting.
As he waited moments longer,he was sure she was taking revenge for what happened last night.A big smile spread across his face thinking of how jealous she can be for him.In his mind he imagined interacting with her, possibly coming up with a 'magical word' or sentence that would make her anger disappear in a moment. He knew she was emotionally too attached to him and he didn't want to hurt her in any way.
The thought of her, cleared his head of all fatigue, her love gave him strength, for what he needed right now and he felt energy brew within his being. He decided to wait for her as long as it took, even if it meant waiting the entire night.
The transparent glass began to defog and he glanced its way,his eyes kept tracking the entrance, lingering on little details. In one such moment he saw her walking in through the entrance made of crown of flowers and leaves. Moving lightly with a graceful gait, perhaps not wanting to appear too enthusiastic. She was the image of beauty, poise and charm wrapped in a black skirt and purple top.Dark hair crowned her head while golden highlights framed her slim, angular face.
He was so engrossed in admiring her that he didn't see her coming towards him until she was standing right in front of him.
"Looks like the girl has got her influence on you." She taunted, her eyes sparking brilliantly.
He shifted and moved towards her only to be stopped at her averted gaze.
"Are you still mad at me?"
"Shouldn't I be?"
"Abelarda, you know the whole thing then how can you be so surprised about it".
"Oh I am so sorry Mr Rashid you're right I am such a fool.He is your wife and who the hell I am to talk something like that". She pulled out a chair, seated herself, and crossed one leg over the other.
