Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said,

"The strong believer is more beloved to Allah than the weak believer, but there is goodness in both of them. Be eager for what benefits you, seek help from Allah, and do not be frustrated. If something befalls you, then do not say: If only I had done something else. Rather say: Allah has decreed what he wills. Verily, the phrase 'if only' opens the way for the work of Satan. "

Holding the fond memories

Beside the aching heart

Grief moves in waves

Clashing fiercely against the broken heart

Falling on the land of sufferings

Trying to remember how to fly

Aching to hold the remnants of memories

Struggling with the reality of the endings

The morning began very early for Rashid. When the bright light began rising layer upon layer,he covered himself with the duvet and tried floating back into sleep. It was very unlikely of him to wake up at the crack of dawn.Though it was a holiday today so it meant a lot of sleeping without anyone having him interrupted, but suddenly he felt too exhausted to sleep.

After trying several different positions he finally abandoned all thoughts of rest and pushed the duvet back. He slid his feet into his slippers, and picked up his glasses from the drawer of his night table and put them on, pushing them up with his middle finger.

He walked over to the kitchen area, his eyes looked around, directed without any apparent purpose yet attentive enough to take in her absence. He grabbed a dish towel and walked back to the space next to the dining room table.

Greeting Ayesha with a quick kiss on her head he pulled up the chair next to her and sat down.

"Mom I was thinking to bring Hera home. Its been a week now". He said as he reached for the jug of milk.

She had been to his maternal aunt's home. It was his aunt who came up with the suggestion to take Hera with her for a few days to her home as she was free for the most part of the days now.

He first thought Hera would never agree to go with her and that too for a long haul of few days but his notion was soon proved wrong, and she went with her the same day.

He was certain she wanted to be away from home...from him.

"Yeah it's been so many days".She paused at just that, displaying not too much intrest or, so he thought.

Since Hera had stopped going to college he had observed a change in Ayesha's behaviour towards her.She either didn't speak to her at all or even when she did, her speech was measured.

The decision had caused a rift between them.He felt Ayesha had detached herself from Hera and the strain of which fell heavy upon Hera.

"Mom are you still upset with Hera?"
