CHAPTER 11: First Day of SCHOOL.
SKY’s POV
“Kainin mo tong lunch na hinanda ko para sayo. Always check the time. If you have a class and you’re hungry--- ”
“I have to excuse myself from the class so that I can eat. Mom enough of the reminders, you’ve been telling me those things since I was enrolled. I really need to go. I’ll call you as soon as I’ll get there ok?” I need to stop my Mom, hindi sa ayaw kong malate dahil hindi pa naman regular class ngayon. Hindi ko rin naman na kailangan pang humabol sa orientation ng school for new students. Kailangan ko lang talagang patigilin si Mom kasi naiirita na ako. Paulit-ulit niya ng sinasabi yan.
“You’re not even late for school anak. Why are you in a hurry? Ang sabi mo naman di ka rin aatend ng orientation, besides hindi pa regular ang classes ngayon.” Bakit ba kailangang nakapout pa ang nanay ko habang sinasabi niya yan. Hindi naman siya nagtatampo diba?
“Ma, I just want you to stop reminding me. I know what to do already. Naisaulo ko na po lahat ng paalala ninyo.” I have to be straight to the point.
“Alam ko naman yun anak. Alam mo naman si Mommy diba? Nag-aalala lang kasi ako sayo.”
“Ma, kaya ko na po ang sarili ko. Would I live for 2 years without anyone else with me kung hindi ko po kaya?” Tumango naman siya. I know she got my point.
“Basta kainin mo tong lunch na ginawa ko, share these with Sophia and the others.”
“Yes Ma, I will.” Thank God she stopped already.
Nagvibrate naman ang cellphone ko. Tinignan ko ang caller at sinagot ang call.
“Where the hell are you Sky Venice?!” Bungad sakin ng nasa kabilang linya. Nailayo ko sa tenga ko ang cellphone dahil sa lakas ng pagkakasabi niya non.
“Bat ka naninigaw?” Balik kong tanong sakanya.
“Tama bang sagutin mo ng tanong ang tanong ko? Nasaan ka?” Kalmado niya ng sabi saakin.
“Literally, nasa harap ako ni Mom ngayon. Why?” Sagot ko sakanya.
“Hindi ka ba aatend ng orientation?” Tanong niya.
“Nope. ” Simpleng tugon ko.
“Hindi daw siya aatend Nique--- Tsaka parang may pinag-uusapan ata sila ni Tita.” Dinig kong sabi ni Sophia. Magkakasama pala sila.
“Bhest punta ka na pleeeease.” Sophia pleads to me.
I looked at my Mom and mouthed ‘Sophia’. Then she nods.
“You need to go?” She asked.
“Yes Ma.” Tumango naman siya.
“Tell me where are you right now. I’ll be there in 30minutes. That would probably be half way of the orientation.”
“Ok bhest, nasa may----saan ba to? Ah, sa harap ng Gathering Hall. Nakikijoin lang kame sa orientation ng mga Newbies. See you. Drive safely. Love you! Bye.” And with that she ended the call.
“Alis na po ako.” Niyakap ko si Mommy at hinalikan niya ako sa pisngi.
“Take care, I love you anak. Drive safely.”
