A short lesson for a busy student!

We're gonna learn some of the body parts in Korean. Let's begin!

가슴 = ka-seum = chest

You've probably heard Koreans sing or say 가슴아파 /kaseum appa, which basically means "chest pain" or "my chest hurts". In k-dramas this is usually referred to as having pain in the heart, because of something that had upset you.

복근 = bok-keun = abs

배 = Bae = stomach

어깨 = eo-kkae = shoulder

등 = deung = back

손 = son = hand

손등 = son-deung = the back of the hand

발 = bal = foot

발등 = bal-deung = the back of the foot

허리 = heo-ri = waist

종아리 = jong-a-ri = calf

허벅지 = heo-beok-ji = thigh

무릎 = mu-reup = knee

팔 = arm = pal

팔꿈치 = elbow = pal-kkeum-chi

손목 = wrist = son-mok (mok/목 means neck. So it basically translates to "neck of the hand")

손 = hand = son

손가락 = finger = son-ka-rak

엉덩이 = butt = eong-deong-i

발 = foot = bal

발목 = ankle = bal-mok

발가락 = toe = bal-ka-rak

You can say appa / 아파 after any of these words to say something is hurting you.

Listen to the Korean children's song "Head, shoulders, knees, feet" for a fun learning and let me know what "head" translates to ;)

That's it!
