Part 30 Master Of Illusions

Lilith-Luz and Edric your battle will only end when the other person is unable of continue the fight. Is that clear.

Both of them gave a nod

Eda- lily do you need to be all official about things? I mean come on this isn't one of your uptight coven battles after all.

Lilith- If I am the one supervising this battle then it's gonna be done the right way.

Eda gave a dismissive wave of her hand which Lilith ignored.

Lilith- You may begin.

At the click of his fingers Edric used illusions to completely mask himself in identical clones. He slowly walked backwards out of Luz's view shifting and changing direction before luz knew it she had been almost entirely surrounded.

"I can get out of this easily. " luz reassured herself. She casted an earth manipulation spell that covered the ground encasing Edrics feet, luz surfed on thin layers of ice sheets  throwing down as many plant abomination hybrids as possible but they were in the form of seeds, Ed laughed" what are you gonna do with a bunch of seeds Luz?" It took him a while to realise that the sludge was made not only to slow him down but to sprout out the hybrids.

The hybrids encased Ed, that was when luz was Left to search each clone just to check which was the real one." Hey luuuuuzzzzz" He said "Over here" he called "this way" another edric shouted.

Before she knew it the spell had worn off along with her chance to find him. "That was pretty impressive Luz, now prepare to be dazzled by the illusion master. "

Emira almost fell of the bench in the seating area, "illusions master? Are you sure your not just under one of your own spells."

Edric tried to keep his cool after hearing his sister's remark. He drew a wobbly circle in the air before adding some milulticoloured potions, this action was copied by every other Ed, once again luz was at a disadvantage and surrounded by her opponent. The colours and murmured voices from the outside of the illusions bubble  sent her dizzy- or so edric thought. Luz dropped to the ground dramatically.

Believing that Luz was defeated Edric looked away. Ready to be deemed the winner of the match. Luz made a clone of herself and sent the real her launching into the air using a small ice glyph, unaware or the quickly falling human Edric turned around to see luz now standing up pointing behind Ed who became an uncomfortable cushion. The  ungraceful landing caused potions of all sorts to mix together creating a mess that they were both covered in and both expected to clean up.

After the fight they were both laid out on two stretchers.

Luz- I was just thinking, how did you get your hands on potions Ed? I thought you only learned Illusion magic.

Ed- When me and Em were in our first years of hexside we learned all magic.

Luz- but I thought that learning multiple types of magic across different tracks wasn't allowed before I changed Mr. Bump's mind?

Emira walked over and sat on the edge of the bench and gesture luz to listen closer.

Em- just because it wasn't allowed doesn't mean we wouldn't learn it.

Ed- yeah we never got caught and it helped us subtly enhance our illusions magic too.

Emira- hey luz, ed I have something for you two as a prize.

Both of there eyes lighted up with large smiles plastered across their faces.

Emira lifted a couple of buckets and mops

Emira- suprise! I hope you like it!

Her laugh was silly and an overeaction just to annoy her brother and luz.

Luz made a pretend upset face and Ed  made a real upset face, "Y'know I really did want a prize"

Later on

After finishing cleaning up duty luz waved everyone else goodbye.

(Luz's thoughts) - I like having jokes with them but I can't forget why and what I am really training for. For her.

Luz turned away from the edge of the path and walked back to the owl house with her hands in her pockets deep in thought.
