Part 41 A Bit Of Quiet

Reika and Amity were sitting next to eachother they had already spoken about how luz and the others were coping with E-Amity's plans.

Reika- We really need to find a way out of here are you sure that magic can't be used without a body?

Amity- I don't know for sure but I have been trying in here for so long recently I Just gave up hope.

Reika- Well there is one thing we could try. Are you up for using anymore ancient magic?

Amity- No of course not Ancient magic is Evil and it's what started all of this.

Reika- What started 'all of this' was your need to forget about that human girl and gain power. Demonising the use of multiple types of magic is what Belos did, do you really want to end up like him? It's about intentions Amity and if your intentions are good then your magic will be too.

Amity- I never thought about it that way before.

Reika- true magic comes from the soul, there is no doubt about it, but it will be difficult to control without the help of a body.

Amity- please teach me again like how you used to but you know a little less... Well...

Reika- aggressive, in your face and obnoxious, ok got it.

Reika- When you were at hexide you learned to control your energy then didn't you? Just try to do that.

Amity's flame became bigger and burned a faint blue at the centre.

Reika- good good now we are going to use fusion an ancient method passed down through generations upon generations of Wildeman, Without my magic its useless to me but maybe you could try to connect with me and then use the remainder of your magic to control my body I know it's going to be a difficult practice Amity.

They attempted to fuse magic as Amity's soul tried desperately to connect with Reika, but to no avail.

Reika- Some people cannot connect to eachother it's impossible, personality types clash and conflict from within are both factors in preventing fusion.

Amity- Well changing our personality types is not an option. small, we need to think smaller. There rats in here would it be worth trying to fuse with one of them.

Reika- I don't think so, it's not always about the size of the body you are trying to possess but more about the soul but more importantly fusing with a rat would also be a disrespectful move against the technique and my tradition.

Amity- of course not I would never wish to disrespect your culture.

Reika- Ha ha ha I'm just kidding tradition, pride, strength I don't know the meaning of any of those words anymore.

Amity- I was surprised when you came here to save me I just thought you were gonna shout at me for not keeping up with my training.

Reika- How could you possibly do physical exercise as a spirit.

Amity- I dunno you tell me.

The two of them laughed a bit but as usual the daunting nature of there situation was weighing in on them ans they tried to work.

Reika- To completely fuse with someone you must turn yourself into pure energy putting aside your personal feelings, thoughts, memorys and future to be apart of something greater than only yourself.

Amity- sorry, but what does that mean.

Reika- It means that I do know how to achive complete fusion and that I have been lieing to you... The only way to properly fuse is to become energy for another person to use as a substitute for their own lacking magic.

Amity- I still don't understand what that means.

Reika- fusion was a technique used by my ancestors in battle in the first age of savage or wild magic when they knew they were about to die they would pass on the remnants of their magic or soul to someone else on their side so that the war could be one won.

Amity- As in a sacrifice?

Reika- Yes... I thought we could try it without anyone having to die but unfortunately that's not how it was designed, I don't know, all I know is that any who has used fusion in my family has never returned from it.

Amity- It's best to not take that chance then, I guess.

Reika- Sorry for getting your hopes up of an early escape looks like we really are going to have to wait for the others. If you cannot train your body and I cannot train with my magic the least we can do is train our minds.

Amity- But you said training the inside is for those who aren't strong enough on the outside.

Reika- I know what I used to say... That was the old me the ruthless leader of a fighting troop... But that wasn't true we need to make sure we don't lose our minds in here. It's time for a bit of calm. And quiet.

Reika sat back down and closed her eyes as amity's soul hovered closer to the ground.

Amity giggled

Amity- wow you really have changed.. Where is my fighting instructor and what have you done with her.

Reika Continued the joke

Reika- I'll tell you what happened, she got put in her place by some old people who don't even use magic and then after a few months of eating bland pig snout porridge and bathing in a blend of snail goop and winged beast saliva I decided I had enough.

Amity- winged beast saliva really?

Reika- yeah, Those old people may of been a bit crazy here and there but I think in some way they just want peace, magic is what makes people become power hungry, me, you, Belos and even Lilith wanted to become powerful she had her reasons we all did but it doesn't excuse what we will do and become for power.

Amity's flame burned hotter and became a range of different colours.

Amity- To those older people magic might just seem like a burden that brings out the worst in people and society but Magic is life, you don't need a bile sack attached to your physical heart to do magic luz proves that. That's why I love her.

Amity's flame turned a bright bright shade of pink the embarrassment was real.

Reika- Ha ha you and the human ay? no wonder why all you keep asking about is her. I never would have thought that Amity Blight of the prestigious and well known Blight family would develop a crush on a human girl, it's hilarious.

Amity- I don't understand what's so funny about it.. She means a lot to me.

Reika- Well Amity I am not saying that's a bad thing if anything it's good because you have something to focus on as you try to use your magic with out a body.

Amity- this About fusion again

Reika- No not about fusion it isn't the only magic you can use without a body and besides it's better than doing nothing.

Both Amity and Reika remained silent as they sat and meditated.

I have watched the studio ghibli films and I find that usually after a lot of  action or something has happened there is a bit of calmness after that,
