Part 59 Something New

Amity- The human world is so weird, what are those giant metal boxs.

Luz- There called cars we use them for transportation they are really quick and kinda dangerous.

Amity gulped at the word dangerous.

Luz- Don't worry as long as you look both ways you should be fine.. Although there are the few occasional bad drivers.

Amity put her head on Luz's shoulder.

Luz- Like I said don't worry and were almost at my house now, so this won't be to much of an earth sensory overload.

Amity- Well as long as we can get to your mom in time that's all I guess matters... Luz I never thought about it but what if she doesn't expect me as a witch and wants to send me back and I've seen to many history books of witches entering the human world and getting burnt to the stake.

Luz- That is not going to happen if anything really all she is going to be annoyed about is the fact that I am missing an eye.

Amity- ok but what is your mom actually like you never really talked about her on the Isles. And after seeing Grom turn into her I'm scared I've got the wrong impression.

Luz- Yeah that was my fear not at all what my mom is usually like and we're here so can find out for yourself.

Luz knocked on the door and heard a series of quick footsteps running down the stairs. Before she knew it the door swung open and her mom's arms wrapped around her.

Camilia- Mija!

Luz couldn't speak as her mom slowly pulled away from the hug and saw her eye patch and then saw Amity.

Camilia- Luz please explain this.

Luz- Well this is Amity my girlfriend and-

Camilia- Luz I assumed you were staying at a boyfriend's or girlfriend's house anyway I want to know why my daughter is wearing an eyepatch.

Luz slowly untied the strings and revealed a hole.

Camilia's hands were on her face own face in shock.

Amity was beginning to feel more and more out of place in every moment.

Luz- I wasn't in the human world mami.. I was.. I was in another world known as the boiling Isles, I know it sounds crazy but It's actually true.

Camilia- this is crazy and also not the time for you to make fantasy worlds up we are in the real world.

Luz- The Isles are real too.

Camilia- how did you lose your eye tell me I promise whatever it is I won't be mad at you.

Amity- Excuse me um.

Camilia and Luz looked over at Amity.

Amity- She's not lying I can prove it.

All of a sudden Amity summoned a small abomination.

As soon as the abomination disappeared Camilia dropped to her knees it took a while for her to get up again the shock of it all was. Almost too much. But she regained her composure.

Camilia- Is this true luz did you really go to another world?

Luz- yes and I've been there for all the those months except from the few times I came back to visit you and get some spare clothes.

Camilia- so your girlfriend is she? are you?

Amity- I'm Amity Blight a witch from the Isles nice to meet you Mrs Noceda.

Camilia- You don't need to be so formal, but a witch I never thought that witches really existed.

Camilia was becoming more intrigued than frightened.

Luz- Does that mean that Amity can stay.

Camilia- yes but-

Luz- Awesome Come on Amity I will show you my room.

Camilia- Wait just because I am letting her stay doesn't mean that you are off the hook we are going to have a few conversations on honesty and I'm assuming that's where you went when you were supposed to be at summer camp too huh?

Luz- Yeah... But can I please show Amity my room.

Camilia-  well If you must.

Luz was about to run upstairs but then turned around to face her mom.

Luz- Mami I know that it will stay on your mind if I don't tell you but a lot did happen on the Isles I just hope you can understand.

Camila- I trust you and I trust that you and Amity will look out for each other when you next go back to the Isles.

Luz- You would really let me go back there?

Camilia- I wouldn't want you to go back there until Inknow it is safe but maybe with enough convincing I will.

Luz grabbed Amity's hand and they ran upstairs.

Camilia- (to herself) That girl has some explaining to do but I guess for now I will let it slide.

Luz and Amity finally pulled out some  other books and began to read together Azura was their favourite but maybe just maybe it was time to move on to some new books, who knows they might be surprised by what they find, it's always good to start something new. Together.

(just imagine some really good ending music being played)
