Part 44 Boat Shenanigans

In the morning all of them woke up feeling tired it was an abrupt awakening footsteps could be heard pacing round and around the outside. And shouting could also be heard.

The villagers stormed in with their weapons once again. Easily startled Willow who shot a vine out into the air almost hitting them where they stood.

Villager 1- Why are you mainlanders on the same side as this human she isn't supposed to be here.

Eda- Well incase you haven't noticed nothing these days are supposed to be happening but they are and this human girl has done more than any of you hiding away like you have.

The villagers looked down embarrassed and guilty.

Lilith nugged Eda on her side.

Lilith- Edalyn We are on their land and in their home we need to be on our best behaviour I can't imagine all the legal hoops I will have to jump through if an actual fight breaks out.

Eda- oh give it a rest with your do gooder rules mindset.

Villagers started to walk into the house many of them mumbling under their breathe until one of them finally spoke up pushing his way past the crowd of others people.

Archibald : excuse me hello there I'm Archibald  very sorry for the way we acted it's just the silent lady or whatever that thing was really does terrify us that doesn't excuse the way some of our people treated you human girl.

Eda stuck out her tounge which was quickly rewarded with another firm nudge from her older sister.

Eda- Well at least some people here have manners.

Luz tried to stand up to shake his hand but her still badly wounded foot was beginning to feel a pain worse than before.

Luz- Um sorry my foot is kinda burnt and hurting pretty bad at the moment

Archibald- No need to apologise burns aren't unheard-of around these parts, let me bring you to the medical witch

They all got up and helped Luz to her feet and proceeded to carry her to what Archibald said was the medical tent... It was not. The Elders were inside the medical area with staffs and farming tools.

Eda- Usually I'm up for a good fight but this is a real nothing to gain everything to lose situation.

Elder 1- we asked for the assistance of witches from this world not some half baked human witch.

Everyone started to get angry at them they all expect Eda to put him in his place but before she had the chance to spea Willow piped up.

Willow- Why do you think that you know anything about humans or Luz all she has done since yesterday is help us we came here because we wanted to help you.

Archibald- We should heal the human and then send all of these outsiders on their way don't you and the rest of the elders think the same?

The elders left, this was something clearly planned.

Archibald- I'm sorry I know what you are thinking but I really am grateful for what you all have done to protect the Isles and even our small village everyone is very frightened of  humans around these parts.

Edric- I can't tell whether he was tricking us or not.

Emira- Ed he is trying to help us but clearly playing along with his people would be easier for all of us.

Luz-  if people around here aren't scared of humans why aren't you scared?

Archibald- No not really, let's just say that I was an avid reader as a boy and that I found that human books were incredibly creative, science as humans call it always peaked my interest.
