A/N: this chapter is just a filler, I promise the next one will be better.
Angelica and Lafayette had been dating for a few weeks now. It was official, but the only people who knew were there friends.
"We need to tell everyone." Lafayette suggested. "I'm proud to say you're my girlfriend."
"I know, but we should wait a little bit longer. Just so that I can prepare." Angelica answered.
"Prepare for what?"
"Being judged. I'm in college going out with a high school kid, a lot of my friends, who don't know you, wouldn't understand. Maybe we could wait until you've graduated?"
"It's November, I don't graduate until May." Lafayette protested. "You'll have to deal with it eventually. Wouldn't you rather tell your friends instead of them just finding out?"
"You're right. Monday, I'll tell them everything." Angelica finally gave in.
Lafayette smiled. He loved her very much and wanted to let the whole world know it. But he knew she was sensitive and needed to give some balance to their relationship. "If you need to wait until Friday I'll understand."
"No, you're right. I am going to tell them on Monday. If they don't like it, then I don't care." Angelica smirked and kissed him.
"Mon ange, tu t'embrasses comme une déesse."
Angelica started laughing again. She was very happy to be dating a Frenchmen.
Lunch.
"So, are you finally going to tell people you're dating?" Eliza asked.
"Yeah, on Monday." Angelica looked curiously at her sister. "Why?"
"Ok, who said Monday?" Eliza answered followed by Peggy's hand shooting up.
"What's happening?" Ange and Lafayette were still very confused.
The other two boys sighed and pulled five dollars out of their pockets. "Here."
Peggy more than happily took the money and put it in her own pocket.
"Thanks fellas." She smiled.
"You placed bets on our relationship?" Angelica finally said.
"Just a small one." Alexander tried to sound innocent. "Only five bucks."
"Wow, you guys are low." Lafayette complained.
"Well you did wait this long. I mean, we had to change our bets three times because the days kept passing." Peggy pointed out.
After lunch, Angelica and Laf met behind the bleachers for a chat.
"How was the rest of your day?" She asked.
"Meh, school is school. What about you?"
"Meh as well my love. Just meh." She laughed.
Little did they know that of course Thomas Jefferson had to walk around the corner at that exact time.
"I got to go. Let me give you a goodbye kiss." Lafayette smiled. He pulled her closer to him and laid one on her. She smiled as well. So did Jefferson.
The next day. At King's College.
"Hey Ange, I'm so happy for you." One girl said as Angelica passed by. "Glad you found happiness."
"Thank you?" Angelica was confused as to what was going on.
"Your boyfriend I mean." The girl smiled. "I'm so happy that you finally found love."
Angelica's eyes widened. "What?!?!?!"
Then Hercules greeted her.
"I heard my man Laf finally put the moves on you." Herc joked.
"How did you find out?!?!?" She demanded.
"That's all people are talking about." Hercules explained. "You guys not a thing?"
"We are, but no one was supposed to know until Monday. My friends are super judgmental and this is not the way to break the news to them that I'm dating a minor." Angelica tried to calm down, but you could still tell by her tone that she was upset.
"I thought you went to a party together or something, news was bound to get out." Herc tried to give an explanation, remembering what his friend told him.
"No, we only went as friends because of a bet, and everyone knew it." Angelica shut down his idea. "Laf must have told them. He said he would wait for me to do this."
"Let's not jump to conclusions just yet." Herc began. "Who knows what could have happened?"
"Maybe my sister?" Angelica sighed. "But I don't know if even she would know."
"Can we ask someone where they heard it?" He suggested.
"No, they all probably heard it from a friend. It would take forever before we found out who actually started the whole thing." Angelica replied.
"Then you have to talk to Laf."
"I'll talk to him."
Lunch.
Angelica pulled Lafayette aside before he could sit down. She grabbed his arm and pulled him outside over to the courtyard.
"Did you tell someone?" She asked once they arrived.
"Tell someone what?" Lafayette was confused.
"About us. Everyone knows now and I don't know why. Did you tell someone?"
"No, you said you were going to wait until Monday."
"Great. Then who did this?"
"Someone who has eyes everywhere." Lafayette began. "I bet Thomas or one of his friends saw us here yesterday."
"Then I'm going to find Thomas and he is going to pay!" She grew angry.
"One, we don't know if it is him yet, two, why are you so upset?"
"My friends approuched me at the beginning of my classes. They called me cougar." She complained.
"What's that?"
"It's a woman who likes a child."
"I'll be eighteen in four weeks. Why don't they get that?"
"I guess this is for the best. I was probably going to have cold feet anyway." She admitted.
"It's ok, the truth is out now. We just have to go with it." Lafayette tried to soothe her.
They went back inside and sat at their usual table.
"So, I'm assuming someone found out." Eliza guessed, based on the situation.
"Oui."
"Does that mean I won the bet?" Alexander joked.
"No, I guessed the original date. Better luck next time." Peggy laughed.
The rest of the day Angelica and Lafayette had to deal with all the people who found out about their relationship. Lafayette didn't talk to Jefferson, he knew he did it. He knew he couldn't do anything about it since he had been blackmailing him, Alex, and Laurens. After school, the boys went home to find something strange.
Their was a letter to Washington. But the name on it looked all too familiar. Laurens was the first to see it and picked it up.
"Henry Laurens?"
