Alexander and Lafayette were going to see a movie. Laurens was going to meet them there.

"Where is he?" Alexander asked.

"I don't know. He's not usually late." Lafayette stated.

"Let's just give him a few more minutes." Alexander replied.

They waited a few more minutes before Alexander decided to text Laurens.

Alexander: hey, where are you?
Shorty: sorry, I'm running a little late.
Shorty: why am I in you contacts as shorty? We're like the same height.
Alexander: because it's a free country. Plus I'm like an inch taller.
Shorty: I don't think so.
Alexander: Sure. The movies going to start in five minutes so you better not be far.
Shorty: I'm not too far. I might miss the first preview. Just grab me a Sprite.
Alexander: k.

"He's on his way." Alexander said, putting his phone away. "Come on, we don't want to miss anything."

They went inside and ordered snacks before going into the theater.
Laurens arrived shortly later. His doctor finally said his leg was healed enough for him to drive, so he went out and got his license. Eliza let him borrow her car. He pulled into the parking lot and went to the door.
He didn't have the ticket though, Alexander bought them. He texted him.

Shorty: I need a ticket.
Alexander: I'll be right out.

Alexander came out a moment later. He walked over to Laurens and gave him the ticket. Laurens walked in standing close to Alex.

"See? We're like the same height."

"You're hair is taller than mine." Alexander joked. John rolled his eyes.
"Did you get it?" Hamilton continued.

"Yeah, Eliza let me borrow her car too." Laurens said happily.

"You know that Laf is going to challenge you to a game of Mario kart now, right?"

"Yeah, I'll still beat him." Laurens laughed.

They went inside and watched the movie. Afterwards, they went back out to the parking lot. But something was off.

"What happened to my car?" Alexander asked.

It had been vandalized along with four other cars in the lot. There was nothing left but scrap metal.

"We already called the police." A man said. "No one knows what happened."

"It took me eight months to buy that car." He sighed.
Laurens drove over with Eliza's car.
"What happened?"

"Someone vandalized a bunch of cars." Lafayette explained.

"Great." John jumped out of the car. "How much will it cost to fix it?"

"Probably more than its worth." Alexander shrugged. "I guess I needed a new car anyway, but I thought I'd have time to save."

"Sorry kid." The man chimed in. "You need me to call a taxi?"

"No, we're good." Lafayette answered. After he knew they were ok, then man walked off.

"How do we get to school now?" Laurens questioned.

"Unless the Schuylers can give us a ride, I'm afraid we walk." Alexander sighed.

"Walk? Walk! Do you know how cold it is outside?" Lafayette was so close to frenching.
