Lin Manuel Miranda High was begining their election for class president. It would start with anyone who wanted to run, and then campaigning would begin. Alexander decided to run this year. He knew he probably wouldn't beat someone more popular than him, but he could put his talking skills to use for once. Jefferson was also running. He was far more popular and had a much better chance at winning. But Thomas was a jerk and didn't deserve it. Aaron Burr, James Madison, and John Adams, were all also running. Alexander didn't like his chances.

"Relax, I've spread the word out and all of my friends are going to vote for you." Eliza smiled at her boyfriend. "You have a chance."

"A chance can only get me so far. I have to do the rest of the work myself. Thank you for all that you've done, but I can handle it from here." Alexander responded. He had always been independent and wanted to do things by himself. That was all he had known for years, it felt weird having help from people.

Eliza sighed and grabbed his hand. "Let me help you. Sometimes it's ok to receive help."

"I promise, I got this." He said, with a hint of worry.

"Ok, do you want to go out next Friday?" Eliza asked.

"Yeah, sure."

"Wait, I have an idea." Eliza exclaimed. "How about we set up a double date?"

"With who?" Alexander looked puzzled.

"Peg and Laurens. We can tell them that it's a group hang out, and that everybody else had to cancel." She gleamed with joy.

Alexander smiled at her. "That not a half bad idea. That's sneaky and dishonest. Who are you and what have you done with Elizabeth Schuyler?" He joked.

"I have my days when being sweet and pretty just doesn't suit me. But if my sister fell in love? I suppose I could even show a little dark side." She smirked.

"Cool, I'll set it up."

The bell rang and they both got up and headed towards their classes. Alexander giving her cheek a kiss before leaving.
She blushed and headed for her next class as well.

Lunch.

Alexander and Eliza arrived at the usual table first. Lafayette and Angelica arrived a few minutes later. They wanted to talk before Laurens and Peggy got there.

"Here they come, act cool." Eliza whispered.

Peggy came over and sat at the table first, and John followed a few seconds later.

"So I was thinking maybe we could all go to dinner tonight." Eliza began casually.

"Sounds good to me." Alexander said, kissing her cheek again.

"Oui." Lafayette frenched. (Lol)

"Sure." Peggy answered. They thought they would all have to agree before they got Peg and John to, but apparently not.

"I hope I can." Angelica tried not to make it suspicious when she wouldn't show up. "I might have to study for an upcoming exam."

"What about you Laurens?"

They all looked over at him. He smiled and gave a nod.

"Perfect. How about 8?" Alexander suggested.

They all agreed. When lunch was over, they all got up and went to their next classes.

Chemistry.

Laurens had chemistry with Peggy. They were assigning new lab partners. (I don't know, I'm homeschooled)
He didn't want to admit it, but he wanted Peggy to be his partner very badly.

"Ms. Schuyler? You will be with, Mr. Adams." The professor said.

Laurens was a little disappointed, but at least if she had to get someone that wasn't him, he was glad it was someone who would actually help with the assignment. Unlike.....

"Mr. Jefferson? You'll be with Mr. Laurens."

Laurens felt like dying then and there. He looked over at Jefferson, nervously. Thomas just glared back at him.

After school.

Martha came and picked up Alexander and Lafayette. Laurens had another therapy session today so he stayed and sat by his tree. Then Thomas came up. John flinched at his presence.

"Calm down wimp. I'm not here to hurt you." He sounded annoyed. "I came to talk to you about our assignment."

Laurens just stared at him. He didn't like Jefferson for a number of reasons, but now he was trying to just talk with him. It was suspicious.

"I'm failing." Thomas blurted. "I'm failing and if I fail this class, I won't be able to get into the college I want."

Laurens just looked over at him. Not sure what to do. This had to be a trick, right?

"Look, I know I've been a jerk, but I'm serious. You're the only person I can go to. The Schuyler sisters think I'm a monster, James Madison is busy I guess, Aaron Burr said he had his own problems and I guarantee Hamilton would not do this for a million dollars." He pleaded. "So?"

"Why?" Laurens gave a cold glance.

"I know, you have no reason to help me. But I want to give you the chance to do the right thing." Jefferson smirked.

"No." Laurens stated blankly.

"Fine, just know you could've done this the easy way." Jefferson cocked his fist.

"I don't care. No one will believe you if you try and threaten me. Mr. Seabury can only help you for so long."

"Wow, lot of words coming from a mute." Thomas laughed. "But I'm not gonna beat you up if that's what you mean. Because blackmail is just as easy."

Laurens jerked his head up and put away his notebook. "What do you have on me?" He felt a shiver run up and down his spine.

"Remember something that happened last month?" Thomas cocked his head.

Laurens knew he was referring to the day he was rushed to the hospital. Wow, he didn't realize it had been a month already.

"What about it?"

Jefferson pulled out his phone and showed him a video of Washington in the hall with Alexander, Lafayette, and if course, himself.

"It would suck if the entire school knew you were Washington's foster kids." He spat.

Laurens grew angry. He didn't want to let anybody know he lived with the Washingtons, but he didn't want to help Jefferson either.

"So, what do you say now?"

"Fine!" He glared at him.

"Good, boy." Thomas pushed his head as he walked away.

John sighed. This had not been a good month for him, and it wasn't even over. He ran his hands through his hair until Washington came out of the building. He picked up his backpack and ran over to the car.
