Laurens felt awful. He couldn't remember why, could be the fact that it had been three days and he was still tied to a chair. He tasted blood dripping down his lip, but could feel nothing but numb. The last thing that happened to him was the sound of multiple cars driving by, followed by his father jamming a syringe in his neck.
"Morning kiddo."
"What the heck?"
"Did you sleep well last night?" He laughed.
"You drugged me?" John tried to see where the noise was coming from, as his eyes tried to focus on the room.
"Eh, just a little." He said casually. "You hungry?"
"Do you actually care?"
"I'm afraid food is vital to life. Eat up."
A/N: honestly, this is just something I say to myself everyday.Laurens looked at him for a moment.
"Oh right!"
Henry went over and untied John. Laurens immediately bolted for the only door in the room, but fell to the ground as his legs gave out.
"Nice try. I'm not stupid." He grabbed Laurens and tied his hands together, but in front of his body so he could still eat.
"You still haven't answered me." Laurens stated, devouring the food Henry had brought him. He hadn't eaten in days. Typical.
"About what?"
"What are you going to do with me?"
"I did answer you! Now shut up and eat before I change my mind!" He spat.
"How can you live with yourself as a person?"
"The same way I have for the past 17 years. Raged!" Henry yelled. "You took everything from me. My wife, my parents inheritance, my education. I was going to Harvard but had to drop out because you were born. You have ruined my life!"
"Then why am I still alive?" Laurens asked, actually curious to his response.
"Because. Sadly, you are all I have left." He sighed. "That is the worst burden of all. The thing I hate most, is all I have left."
"My mother wanted you to be a good father. She wanted you to take care of me. Yet look at where we are!" Laurens yelled. "I finally opened that box you kept from me all these years. She knew she was gonna die and wanted me to live! Yet you still blamed me! You didn't even show me what my own mother looked like!!!"
Henry grabbed him by his short, curly hair and threw him to the ground. He hated how the boy looked exactly like his wife, Eleanor. It made it even harder for him to move on with the constant reminder.
"You should've shut up when you had the chance." His father pulled out another syringe.
"And you should have been my father!"
Alexander was in his room. The police had been searching the area that he had shown the Chesapeake Bay road had lead to. It was a small, poor part of the city. Hopefully it wouldn't take them too long to find his friend. Lafayette came in trying to comfort him.
"Hey Alex. Dinner is ready."
Alexander just ignored him. He didn't know what to do right now. If this happened to anyone else he knew, he probably would've gone to Laurens.
"Do you want me to ask Eliza over?" Laf suggested.
"No, it's ok. I'll be down in a minute." Alexander turned over and went back to thinking. Hamilton kept to his word and came down a few minutes later. He dragged his feet over to the table and sat down.
