A/N: as a multi fandom account, I would like to mention the death of Chadwick Boseman. Even though most of you will probably know who he was, for the ones who don't, I would like to take a moment to be serious. Chadwick was a great man who was a hero for many. He was a brave black role model and starred in history changing movies like 42, Black Panther, and more. We will miss you Chadwick. Wakanda Forever!
Alexander had secretly been on three dates with Maria. He hadn't told anyone. Laurens was getting suspicious however and decided to talk to Maria.
"I'm 99% sure that you and Alexander never dated." Laurens confronted her at the cafe. "Why did you tell him that?"
"Well, Laurens. You haven't known Alexander that long." Maria responded.
"Is he cheating on Eliza?" Laurens asked.
"Jack, why on earth...."
"Don't call me that! Is Alexander cheating on Eliza with you!" Laurens grew mad.
"I'm sorry John, but I have to go." Maria left to get back to work.
Laurens got up and left the cafe. He walked down the street and turned the corner before heading back to the house.
"Hey Alexander! You wanna go see a movie tonight?" Lafayette asked. It was a Sunday afternoon, they almost always went to a movie on Sundays.
"Can't, I have a date." Alexander slipped out. "Not with Eliza." He made it worse. "I mean, I'm just meeting up with someone I haven't see in awhile."
"Oh, I get it. It's cool, I'll call Laurens." Lafayette walked out of the room.
Alexander felt bad. He didn't want to do this, but he felt as if he had to. He and Maria were being very sneaky and conniving. He got ready for his 'meet up', and left the house. What could he do about it now?
He went to the same spot he met her at every time they 'hung out'. It was the alley behind her mom's cafe. As soon as she was done with her shift, she just went out the back entrance.
"So, what do you have planned for today?" Alexander asked. "And just to be clear, this is the last time. I'm with Eliza now."
"You said that last time, yet here you are." Maria spoke seductively.
"I mean it this time." Alexander stated.
"Then let's go to a movie." Maria grabbed his arm as they walked to the car he was borrowing.
"Fine, but we have to go to a different theater then the one up the street." Alexander remembered Laf and Laurens were going to see a movie.
After the movie, he drove her over to her house, stopping a block away so no one would see them together.
The next day, Alexander went to school and received a note in his locker.
Meet me in the courtyard at lunch, ALONE!
The letter wasn't signed. Alexander didn't know what to think of it. Was it Jefferson trying to mess with him? It wasn't Eliza's handwriting.
When lunch came, he decided to ignore it. Jefferson wouldn't make a fool of him.
After school, he did end up going to see Maria again. But this time, just to remind her they couldn't see each other anymore. But the night ended with a movie and a kiss. The next morning, Alexander got another letter in his locker, but this one was different.
I know. Meet me in the courtyard. ALONE! You'll regret it if you don't.
Alexander decided that even if this was a prank, it would be better to be slightly humiliated for a day than this be real and him regret it. At lunch, he went out into the courtyard to be greeted by one of the last people he thought he'd see. James Reynolds.
"Alexander! Glad you showed up today." James smirked.
"What was so important that both of us had to miss lunch?" Alexander stated blankly, he sounded very annoyed, probably because he was.
"I know you have been sneaking around with my girlfriend, Maria Lewis." James spoke as he paced around Hamilton.
"It was just a meet up. That's all, ask her yourself." Alexander informed him.
"Well, no matter what it was, I have pictures of you two kissing in your car, in the alley behind the cafe she works at." James scoffed.
"One, that's not my car, I borrowed it. Two, you haven't told anyone else yet so what do you want from me?" Alexander sighed.
"$500. Or I tell Eliza." James laughed.
"What!?!?! That's my savings for a new car!" Alexander yelled.
"You can buy a new car, but there's only one person you are meant to spend the rest of your life with." James smiled. "So?"
"Nobody needs to know." Alexander sighed. "I'll get you the money on Monday."
"Good boy." James chuckled as he patted Hamilton on the face. "Hurry along before you miss lunch with your, 'Oh so special girlfriend'." James said before walking away.
After school, Alexander went to the cafe to confront Maria.
"Did you know about this?" Alexander yelled at her.
"I don't know about any letter!"
"Don't lie to me. You're a pathetic liar." He spat raged.
"I didn't know any better." Maria whimpered. "Please you have to understand."
"Understand what!" Alexander yelled. "What could possibly justify this!?!?!"
"I'm pregnant." She cried.
"What?"
"I'm pregnant, James is the father and it was the only way. He said if I didn't, he would force me to get an abortion." She dropped her notepad for taking orders, and fell to the ground.
"I have to go." Alexander felt a hint of guilt among the rage.
"Please don't leave me, I am helpless." She cried out more.
"Why didn't you tell anyone? Your parents could have helped you!" Alexander exclaimed.
"I'm sorry, I shouldn't have lied to you. The whole thing is a lie. We never dated before. I shouldn't have done this." Maria balled her eyes out.
"I'm sorry. But I really have to go." Alexander stood up and walked out of the cafe.
What am I going to do? I can't tell Eliza. What if she finds out anyway? What am I supposed to do then?
Alexander walked home. He felt awful. He had no idea what to do with himself. By the time he made it home, it was past 7. The Washingtons had plans, and Lafayette was at Hercules' house. But Laurens wasn't there either. Maybe he went with Laf to Herc's.
At around 8, Lafayette finally came home. But he came home alone."Hey mom ami." The Frenchman greeted him.
"Hey, where's Laurens?" Alexander asked curiously.
"I thought he was with you." Lafayette worried a slight bit.
"No. I thought the same thing." Alexander pulled out his phone and tried calling it, voicemail. He tried three more times. Voicemail, Voicemail, Voicemail.
"Is he with Peg?" Lafayette suggested.
"I'll call her." Alexander pulled out Peggy's phone number.
"Hey Alex." She greeted.
"Hey Peggy, is Laurens with you?" Alexander asked, trying not to sound panicked.
"Uh no. I haven't seen him since school. He said he was going straight home." Peggy answered. "Is everything ok?"
"Oh, I just remembered where he probably is, thanks Peggy. Bye." He hung up the phone.
"Where could he be?" Lafayette asked.
"I just said that so she wouldn't panic, but he's not with her." Alexander stated.
"Then where could he be?"
