A/N: YAY LAFAYETTE!!!!! I do feel kind of bad for the last part.
Lafayette woke up late. Lucky for him, his birthday fell on a Saturday this year. Couldn't have planned that better if he tried. He was going to have a party later that day. Hercules was planning it though, so he had no idea what was in store. The day began with a text.
Herc: get up!
Laf: why, it's my birthday, I want to sleep in.
Herc: you did, now get up.Lafayette dragged himself out of bed. He got ready for the day, then went downstairs for breakfast.
"Good morning sweetheart." Martha greeted him. "Today, you are a man."
He almost burst out laughing. For some reason, everyone always asks how do you feel? Everytime someone has a birthday. Yet everytime, Lafayette felt exactly the same as he did yesterday.
"Bon anniversaire mon ami." Alexander greeted the Frenchman.
"Oui oui." He rolled his eyes. "You know I speak English right?" He joked.
"Haha." Alexander said sarcastically. "Just know you can go to jail now."
"Alexander, be nice. That's no way to start someone's birthday." Martha kissed Lafayette's face, making him flinch.
"I'm not a little kid anymore. I prefer hugs, not kisses." So she gave him a hug.
"I made you chocolate croissants." Martha smiled knowing it was his favorite breakfast.
"Now that's the way to start a birthday."
Laurens limped down the stairs next, trying not to slip on his crutches. "Did I miss something?"
"Oh right, he doesn't know. Today is Laf's birthday." Alexander explained, shoving a croissant in his mouth. "You better hurry before Mr. English eats all of these."
"I said I speak English, I didn't say I wasn't French." Lafayette scooped five croissants onto his plate.
"I wasn't kidding Laurens. He will eat them all." Alexander chuckled.
Laurens came into the kitchen and sat down. There we're still about a dozen croissants left.
"Where's Washington?" Alexander asked.
"He went to the store. He'll be back soon." Martha answered.
Lafayette got a notification on his phone.
Herc: are you done yet?
Laf: I'm eating croissants. Don't bother me.Everyone knew you didn't come between Lafayette and his 'french' foods.
Herc: fine. When you're done, meet me outside.
Laf: ok.He put his phone down and started eating again, adding more and more croissants onto his plate.
"You wanna save some for the rest of us?" Alexander teased.
"Not for a million dollars." Laf laughed.
Martha started laughing as well. "I'm glad you like them."
When they got done eating, Lafayette went outside to be greeted by a van full of all his friends. Hercules Mulligan driving. He got out of the car and walked over to him.
"Come on. If we don't leave now, we'll be off schedule. Where's Alex and the other kid?" Herc asked.
"I'll go get them." Lafayette smiled. "No alcohol!"
"Relax, it's not even an option." Herc yelled as Lafayette ran inside.
"Hey, you have been summoned by the great Hercules Mulligan." He joked.
