A/N: NOT HENRY LAURENS! Just need to make that clear. Also, I got a new phone so if anything is weird, that's probably why. Imagine this chapter like that one episode of the office. Dinner party. I would also like to say that it just occurred to me that Eliza and Peggy are in the same grade. Whoops. So for the sake of the story, they are nine months apart, Peggy was born in August about a week before Laurens, and Eliza was born in November about a month before Lafayette. Ok we good? We good!

Alexander and John were getting ready for school. Alexander pulled out his phone when he received a text from Eliza.

Eliza💙: you free tonight?
Alexander: yeah, where you want to go?
Eliza💙: my house?
Alexander: what?
Eliza💙: you have to meet my father already.
Alexander: i already have.
Eliza💙: i mean, he need's to get to know you. if he doesn't like you, he'll make us stop dating. Don't you think your future father in law should like you?
Alexander: fine. what time?
Eliza💙: 6:30. Bring Laurens too.
Alexander: good, at least i won't die alone.
Eliza💙: Ok, see you tonight.
Alexander: see you at school in five minutes.

Alexander jumped up and went into Laurens' room.

"Hey Laurens. We're going to dinner tonight at the Schuylers."

"All of us?" John asked.

"No, just you and me. Eliza said I need to get to know my future father in law. You're coming too." Alexander answered.

"Ok, I do have therapy until 5:45." Laurens responded.

"Alright. Just make sure you're back at six so we can leave at six fifteen and be there by six thirty."

"Wow, I don't think I've ever seen you this determined to be somewhere on time."

"I don't like to keep my girlfriend waiting, especially one like Eliza. Peg's sweet too."

Laurens rolled his eyes. "Ok. I'll be ready."

After school, Laurens went to another therapy session with Dr. Reynolds. When he was called back, he went into the room he normally went to and waited for Dr. Reynolds.

"Hello. Good afternoon John." Reynolds entered. Laurens had been more open to people calling him John again. Before he felt like he had no choice of the matter, but now he didn't care if people called him John or Laurens, as long as they didn't call him Jack. "Anything new?"

"I've been having this recurring nightmare every night. It's weird though. It's like I know where I am but not how I got there. Everything is black and I can feel blood and I can hear his voice." Laurens explained.

"Your father?"

Laurens nodded. His father's voice still ringing in his ears.

"Have you tried listening to calming music before sleeping?" Reynolds asked.

"No."

"Well, I suggest listening to calming music on a low volume. Or if you prefer, they have some beach or rain sounds you can find on YouTube."

"Good to know."

When Laurens got home, he went inside and changed out of his school uniform and into some nicer clothes.
When he was done, he went downstairs and he and Alexander went to the Schuyler Manor. Though they had been there for the Halloween party, most of ghe house was covered with decorations. They were not able to see the true beauty and the detail of the historic home.

"Wow. I forget how big their house is." Laurens gasped.

"Yep, us 'poor' folk couldn't imagine it." Alexander joked.
