Christmas eve had arrived. Everyone was on winter break. Eliza hadn't gotten Alexander a gift yet and was going crazy.

"It's not good enough." She ranted. "Knowing him he'll probably do something really sweet for me and he will be left with a video game."

"He like's video games." Peggy laughed at how loud her sister was being.

"I just wish I was as good at getting gifts as he was. I never tell him anything yet everytime he surprises me with something, it's always something I've wanted for a long time but couldn't find anywhere or something like that." Eliza's rant continued.

It was true. Remember when Alexander got that perfume for her? She hadn't been able to find that in years. She had just used up her last bottle too.

"Uh. He probably thinks I'm a nut case anyway after what happened when he and Laurens came to dinner." Eliza shrugged at the thought. So did Peggy.

"I think you're over thinking." Peggy teased.

"I just don't want this to be one of those times when he does something really sweet and I'm left giving him a fortnite battle pass." Eliza said. True story though, she gave Alexander a fortnite battle pass for their one month anniversary. He got her diamond earrings and a home made card. Eliza loved his cards, he had a way with words she couldn't describe... but he probably could.

"What did you get Laurens?" Eliza asked.

"Just some art supplies. Another notebook and some pens and stuff." Peggy replied.

"Yes, but he loves drawing. The first week he went to our school that's like all he did." Eliza sighed. "I can't exactly get Alexander something that talks a much as he does.

Peggy about died laughing. "Nope, not even Jefferson could do that."

Washington house.

"Hey. Me and Eliza were going to see a movie tonight, Christmas eve special." Alexander said at breakfast.

"Ok. Just make sure you're home by curfew." Washington said, not looking up from his morning newspaper. They still have those?

"Could I maybe get an extra thirty minutes?" Alex pleaded.

"Why?"

"Its Christmas eve." Hamilton shrugged like it was obvious.

"All the more reason to spend time with your family." Washington smirked.

"Fine. I still think that the future mother of my children should count as family." Alexander laughed.

"She will. In the future."

After breakfast, Alexander, Lafayette, and Laurens went to the mall for some last minute shopping for the ladies.

"Why am I here again?" Lafayette asked. "Angelique is going home for Christmas."

"Don't you think you should still buy her a gift?" Laurens questioned.

"Oui, I guess."

Laurens still hadn't gotten anything for Peggy yet. He knew her favorite color was yellow, but most of the clothes in the mall she already had.

"This is hopeless."

"Dont give up," Alexander tried to help him. "We'll find something."

They left the mall and went into a small pawn shop. Laurens hoped to find a nice necklace there or something. What he didn't hope to find was a small brass key that caught his attention. It was oddly familiar, like a face you hadn't seen for years. He couldn't quite tell why.
