"The nightmares are not getting any better, are they?’’ Thomas saw Newt standing next to his bed, staring down at him.
Thomas tried not to groan as he scooted himself into a sitting position.
‘’How long had I been out?’’ Thomas asked.
“Couple hours. When people noticed you lie down, it actually kind of relaxed everyone. ‘’
‘’This time it was different’’ Thomas replied, ignoring what Newt said.
‘’The nightmares? How different?’’
He closed his eyes after a while, but when he saw Alex’s face he opened them right up again.
Was it real? What had she meant when she said she was alive? If it’s true then we need to find her! No...
‘’Forget it, I must be losing my marbles.’’
Deep down Thomas wanted to believe that Alex was still alive, but he knew that the voices in his head weren’t real. She was dead. He saw her die and he was still trying to solidify it in his own mind.
After a while Newt walked away, and Thomas scooted back to lie down again.
