“Thomas.”

He thought it was Alex’s voice. But it was different than it had been the last time he’d heard it.

“Thomas. Dude, wake up.”

Thomas opened his eyes. It was Minho...with an apple?

“Where’d you …” Thomas trailed off swinging his legs over the side of his bed.

“Just eat it,” Minho said, as he threw an apple at him, who caught it in time.

He lifted it to his mouth and took a small bite.

“Where’d these come from?”

“Found them out in the common room. Along with … something else.’’

He stood up.. “What else?”

He walked over to the door and entered the common area. It was crowded with Gladers. There was fruit, vegetables, small packages.

Something caught his attention on the far side of the room.

There was large wooden desk and behind the desk there was a man in a white suit sat in a chair, his feet propped up and crossed at the ankles.

What in the world?

Thomas walked toward the man to investigate when he slammed into an invisible wall making him stumble backward.

 A glass barrier.
