wonwoo turned around, adjusting his glasses on the bridge of his nose as he saw the tall guy who just called him out, illuminated by the light of the sun, running towards him through the sand. he was only wearing swimming trunks with a white shirt that hung loosely around his broad chest. his hazel brown hair stuck onto his forehead, which wonwoo assumed was from the sea, seeing his swimming trunks weren't fully dry either.

"i'm okay." he said, barely showing any emotion as he kneeled to grab the guy's footbal to return it. a strange sense of familiarity hit him in the gut when he took a better look at the guys face. however, he couldn't remember he had ever met him before.

"say, could it be we have met before?" the tall guy spoke, squinting his eyes a little as he looked wonwoo up and down, making heat spread over wonwoo's face when he realized the guy was shamelessly checking him out. communicating with a toddler was a lot easier than with someone his own age. his height, that seemed pretty intimidating, only made his anxiety level rise up more.

however, this confirmed wonwoo's first impression. they must have met each other before, or at least seen each other once when he also seemed to fairly recognize him.

"i don't know. have we?" wonwoo spoke, still annoyed about the football hitting the back of his head earlier.

wonwoo took his time to study the guys facial features when the guy looked up to the clear blue sky, deep in thoughts as to where they could have met before. dark brown eyes with even darker eyebrows above them, furrowed in a frown of confusion. a well defined round nose, together with pinkish perfectly shaped lips, shining a little in the sun light.

his tanned skin tone was beautiful, which fit perfectly together with his broad and well defined body shapes, making him look like a greek god in the white shirt he was wearing. his collarbones peeked out of the deep v-line, grabbing a hold of wonwoo's attention which made him look back up in shame because let his eyes wander off for a moment too long.

"i know it!" the guys eyes widened and he looked back down at wonwoo, "you're the guy in seungcheol's instagram post! with the red car! that's you right?"

"that's me. how do you know seungcheol?" wonwoo shortly replied in his usual monotone deep voice, suspicious as to why he got recognized from a post on instagram when he was two hours away from his hometown. how could someone possibly remember his presence in a picture that was taken a few weeks back anyways? seeing the way the guy looked he must've had a way higher follower count than wonwoo himself could ever get.

"i don't exactly know seungcheol, but i know one of his friends soonyoung! he told me a lot about you, you're wonwoo right?"

he knows me? wonwoo's cheeks turned an even brighter tone of red, questioning himself why the complete stranger with a vague sense of familiarity knew his name. even when soonyoung told this stranger about him, how would someone remind the name of the most unsocial introvert to be exsisting. it didn't make sense at all to wonwoo.

"yes.." he awkwardly replied, seemingly uncomfortable.

"ah i'm sorry, i'm totally messing this up." the tall guy wiped away a non existing drop of sweat from his forehead, offering his hand to wonwoo, eyes looking down at him ever so friendly.

"i'm mingyu. kim mingyu."

and when wonwoo shook his hand, sudden realization hit him. kim mingyu. the famed schools jock. well known through the entire school for his perfect body shapes and his good looks. however, the boy was also well known for the mystery around his relationship status.

because mingyu had been the only one of the popular kids who managed to stay single for the two entire years he had been in school, since he was only one year below wonwoo.

and of course, after the sudden realization on mingyu's ranking in school, wonwoo's insecurity level only raised far more. his height suddenly seemed more intimidating than it already was, even when the warm smile mingyu wore never left his expression, keeping his sparkly white and perfectly shaped canines visible for wonwoo.

"have i made you uncomfortable?" mingyu asked out of sudden after he didn't get a reply from wonwoo, his smile fading and making place for a worried expression, obviously panicking, "oh shit, that wasn't my intention, i promise."

wonwoo was beyond confused. the mingyu he was familiar with from school wasn't as nice and caring as the one who stood in front of him now. he appeared to be not so polite to both students and teachers, stories going around he got nearly kicked off their school multiple times in a row.

not to start about his level of aggression when it came to sports. you could better not be on the opponents team whenever he was in the field nor in his own as he even had his own teammates fearing him. it was a miracle how he was still so loved by practically everyone in their school.

"how on earth have you even remembered me?" wonwoo asked bluntly, instantly turning more awkward when he realized he spoke his mind out loud.

"i'm guessing you haven't seen my comment on the post i assume?" (reference to chapter "happiness" separate | jeongcheol) mingyu assumed, "doesn't the username puppygyu let a bell ring?"

wonwoo couldn't remember he had ever heard nor read the username before. who even was he to check whoever commented underneath seungcheol's posts. he didn't even read his own, when he only got about four comments from his friends, counting more whenever they used the comment section for an important discussion.

"not really."

"you know, i was actually contemplating whether to send you a message or not." mingyu admitted, ruffling the back of his hair in embarrassment as he let out a silent chuckle.

"why would you send me a message?" wonwoo questioned, still unsure how mingyu ever noticed his presence at all.

"well.. you know, i've seen you around at school.. and reasons-"

"-because he's gay!" another male yell from behind mingyu was heard, followed by a high pitched laugh.

"shut the fuck up junhui!" mingyu yelled over his shoulder, giving wonwoo an apologetic smile, "eh, wait here, okay?"

"sure." wonwoo replied in a small voice when mingyu assured him he would be right back, before the tall guy ran off, showing off how his perfectly formed muscles in his legs tightened when he took a sprint, leaving the utterly confused wonwoo behind who was at a loss of words.

was he still so sure he regretted not staying at home?
