minutes passed by painfully slow as wonwoo lay on top of his grey duvets, waiting for the doorbell downstairs to ring. his parents were out for about an hour, bringing somi back to their grandparents so they could go on their business trip the day after in all peace.

he'd been checking the clock that hung on the opposite side of the room constantly, scared he might've gotten a detail wrong or that he didn't fall asleep by accident, which most likely wouldn't happen of course. the screaming nerves that raged through his body were able to keep him wide awake.

a sigh of annoyance left his lips when he checked the time and found out he had to wait five more minutes. there were so many thoughts that clouded his mind. possibilities about what could happen when mingyu decided to ditch him and not show up at all. or if he would impress him enough, even with the simple short sleeved tee he was wearing. what if his friends would make a complete fool out of him, which most likely wouldn't happen since they usually don't pull things like that.

soon enough, however, his thoughts were disturbed by the intrusive ringing of his doorbell downstairs, meaning no one else than mingyu had arrived. with a jump, which nearly made wonwoo stumble once he landed, the curly haired boy got up from his bed as he sped down the stairs. with both hands he ruffled through his pitch-black untamed curls, trying to get it in the slightest shape, pushing his round specs a little higher up his nose right afterwards.

purposely he'd worn a pair of his cleanest red vans sneakers, out of the three pairs of footwear he owned. he couldn't exactly impress mingyu with a shining outfit, since the temperatures hadn't exactly dropped and still felt like how it had been on the beach.

wonwoo took a deep breath before he unlocked the door, revealing the puppy like male who patiently had been waiting on him. he wore a baby blue short-sleeved blouse, the two upper buttons opened so his entire collarbones were revealed, together with a plain black jeans that reached knee height so his beautifully shaped calves were visible underneath them.

wonwoo had to admit that he had a hard time comprehending mingyu's godly looks, still managing to find it hard to find actual flaws in his appearance. especially when a broad smile appeared on mingyu's face, showing off his sharp and white canines the moment he noticed wonwoo's presence.

"hey." he confidently said, making wonwoo feel even more flustered as he muttered out a silent 'hi' as well. with wonwoo having the habit to grab ahold of anything close to his hands when he was nervous, he reached for the fabric of his t-shirt as his fingers started fidgeting with it.

"shall we go then?" mingyu offered, stepping aside so wonwoo could see the vehicle they would be driving in. the black ford reflected the light of the bright sun, that started turning orange as it was already seven pm. his car indeed was indeed really pretty in wonwoo's opinion, hansol had been right after all.

"i'm ready." wonwoo answered, too shy to use more words. usually he would hate it when he had to communicate with others around him, while right now he desperately wished to be better at it. mingyu's intimidating gorgeous body shapes and blinding smile were making it particularly difficult for him.

without saying more words than needed, wonwoo straight-up walked to the side where he had to get in, opening the door as he let his body sink in the passenger seat that was clothed with a soft fabric. mingyu had been buckled up the entire time and had watched every move the boy made carefully, his eyes sparkling nothing but love.

"how about you connect your phone to the car's bluetooth? i'm curious about your taste in music." mingyu offered as he was already busying himself with disconnecting his own phone. "oh no, just play something. i'm fine with all types of music, really."

"are you sure?" mingyu cocked a brow when he averted his gaze from the screen of his phone to wonwoo, who nodded determined about his decision. "of course, just play anything you like. it's your car after all."

"well in that case.." mingyu started, scrolling back to the app where he saved all his songs. "..there's this album i've been listening to all day. ever heard of greenday?"

"yes! they're actually one of my favorite bands." wonwoo admitted, recognizing the name as one of his most listened to artists. his body started losing tense once distorted guitars and rhythmical drums filled the black ford. the volume perfectly adapted to the sound of their voices so they could proceed a conversation on the road.

mingyu twisted his keys in the lock, however wonwoo noticed there wasn't any movement in the car, making him wander his gaze off to mingyu on an instant again. wonwoo couldn't help but to be surprised when their eyes met, a cheeky smile playing on mingyu's face.

"is there something wrong?" wonwoo carefully asked, having absolutely no clue as to why mingyu had his eyes glued on him. it confused him ever further when mingyu shook his head. "i'm just glad to see you again."

before wonwoo even had the chance to return a proper reply, mingyu unbuckled his seatbelt and leaned forward, stealing a quick peck from wonwoo's lips as he kept his hand lingering on his cheek for a brief second longer, rubbing his milky white skin as there were only a few inches in-between their faces. "i missed you." mingyu whispered, grinning in delight as he remained the intense eye contact.

"me too." wonwoo replied, instantly forgetting how to speak again.

their moment didn't last long, since mingyu moved back with a satisfied grin plastered on his face, pressing in the accelerator that made the car drive off to their destination. which was, in this case, only five minutes away from them.

the music, the kiss they shared and the safe atmosphere in the car was what their ride consisted of. and they revel in it.
