"this dumbass only found out yesterday we also have access to the first floor." jeonghan gave seungcheol a sympathetic pat on his shoulder while rolling his eyes as the two boys seated at the counter burst out in heartwarming laughter.
"how could you not know?" wonwoo asked, finding it hard to believe that the owner had no idea he was able to put that floor to use while there was a literal staircase in the centre of the room.
the floor only covered half of the space downstairs and if you'd stand on top of it, you'd had a prefect view over the customers that were seated downstairs as a railing prevent you from falling about four meters down. the lights upstairs were unlit, making it hard to notice that it was actually there and if it wasn't for the obvious staircase, you wouldn't know any better than the cafe only consisting out of one floor.
"i found out it even has a balcony." seungcheol had a small pout displaying on his face, the fact that his friends kept making fun of him being the main cause. "though i'm not sure i want to use it for customers. there isn't much space and a lot of renovation is needed, especially on the balcony."
"so let me get this thing straight." mingyu payed interest, ignoring the 'you're not straight' coming from none other than jeonghan. "you have an upper floor, and you don't want to use it?"
"that's not what i said!" seungcheol smirked mischievous, throwing a glance at jeonghan who appeared to know exactly what it was about. "i'm thinking about cleaning it up, painting the walls, cementing the cracks in the ceiling and the balcony's floor and making it a private spot just for us. that way, when any of our group are paying a visit at daytime you don't have to sit between all the customers but you have your own spot."
"he put me in charge of decoration, so i'll make sure to make it a cozy space! i'm also thinking about putting our favorite photo's on the walls." jeonghan exclaimed in all his enthusiasm, his eyes following every movement seungcheol made as the barista was cleaning everything that stood behind the counter. "cheol's never been really good at cleaning his mess up anyways."
though jeonghan giggled, seungcheol couldn't help but to throw a glare at him. "just because the day we met you offered to clean my room for me, doesn't mean i can't clean!" (chapter nine of separate | jeongcheol)
"babe, i still clean your room on a daily basis!" yet seungcheol couldn't argue, as jeonghan was doing nothing but stating facts.
"i always offer you help!" seungcheol still found ammunition to continue their little discussion, mingyu and wonwoo following it in pure fascination.
"yeah jeonghan, why don't you let him help you, huh?" wonwoo showed a little defiance, stirring a teaspoon in his steaming cup of latte as he leaned a little over the wooden counter. a mesmerizing sight to mingyu, who could do nothing but stare a little too obvious to his boyfriend as he took a small sip from the hot beverage in his mug.
"oh shut up!" jeonghan ended the discussion by crossing his arms and turning his back to a snickering seungcheol, who simply adored jeonghan's behavior anyhow. "you big baby." seungcheol whispered as he came up to his boyfriend from behind and sneaked his arms around his waist. though jeonghan hit his arm with the cleaning cloth he hadn't used yet, he gave into the tight hug soon after, knowing there was no way to interrupt one of choi seungcheol's hugs. though he couldn't complain as he loved being engulfed in his warm and slight muscular arms.
"now, lovebirds, are there any stories you want to share?" jeonghan showed a mischievous smile to the visibly surprised couple, who didn't caught onto the clue he was trying to give.
"like, what stories?" mingyu asked, rather confused. seungcheol mouthed an 'oh god' as he gave his giggling boyfriend a playful slap against his chest, letting go of him to continue cleaning up.
"you know, specific stories?" jeonghan added a wink this time, making wonwoo bury his face inside the palms of his hands out of embarrassment. "for fucks sake jeonghan. unlike you and seungcheol, we're doing things on a normal pace." wonwoo spoke in a monotone voice, emphasizing the word 'normal' as he hoped it would bring at least a little sense of sanity back to jeonghan, who remained visibly unbothered.
"i can't help the fact my boyfriend decided to be so hot." jeonghan said, clearly mesmerized by his boyfriend who continued scrubbing a coffee stain on the wood. "you wouldn't be able to resist his ungodly bod-" "-WE DON'T NEED TO KNOW THAT." wonwoo raised his volume, which only resulted in the three boys bursting out in laughter.
"keep that in your bedroom, please." a giggly mingyu requested, in which seungcheol turned around and finally mixed into their conversation. "yeah han, keep that in the bedroom... for later." he purposely added with a sly wink, which made both wonwoo and mingyu let out a disgusted sigh.
"come on, you can't tell me it disgusts you that much!" jeonghan discussed in his defense, trying to get both mingyu and wonwoo at least a little up at his level.
"well mine might not, but coincidentally i might not be interested in whatever happens in your bedroom!" wonwoo argued, on which jeonghan continued. "-or living room, or stocking room, oh and bathroom-" "-JEONGHAN!"
"come on! don't be so pressed!" jeonghan tried to defend himself, though he couldn't stop wonwoo from looking disgusted, as he was visibly done with the amount of details being shared.
"why do we always end up on this topic. weren't we just talking about the balcony or whatever?" wonwoo complained, taking a generous sip from his heavenly cup of coffee before throwing a glance at the clock. just after ten pm, a perfect time for them to return to wonwoo's place in a bit.
jeonghan noticed wonwoo's eyes wandering off, and flashed him his usual fond smile. "it's getting late. i think it's best if we all go home, are you ready cheol?" jeonghan yelled the last part over his shoulder since seungcheol had disappeared momentarily in the back.
"i'm coming!" seungcheol hastily replied as he peeked around the corner of the stocking room, throwing a smile at his boyfriend before disappearing again.
wonwoo felt a gentle tap on his thigh, hidden away underneath the counter, making him look up and eye mingyu. "shall we go then?" the tall boy whispered, since jeonghan was still too busy shouting instructions at seungcheol. and wonwoo nodded, downing his remaining bit of coffee before he got up from his barstool and got ready to leave again.
"tell seungcheol goodbye for me!" wonwoo said to jeonghan, who waved both boys goodbye as they made their way to the exit after spending another evening at the cozy cafe.
