wonwoo praised the gods for letting him wake up before mingyu, so he wouldn't have to face any form of awkward confrontation. wonwoo figured mingyu would be the type to wake up first and patiently wait until the one he shared a bed with would wake up as well. which was exactly what he was trying to avoid.

on a slow pace he rolled over, his heart beating louder against his ribcage than ever due to the pressure he felt. the slightest movement was able to wake mingyu up and wonwoo wanted to avoid that on any cost.

once he finally safely managed to get out of the bed he returned the blanket in it's former position over the now empty bedside. on tiptoes he continued, which caused the wooden floor to creak dangerously loud with nearly every step he made.

mingyu flinched a couple of times in his sleep, shifting his position and making it look like he was waking up, making wonwoo's adrenalin level rise up to its maximum. however, luck seemed to be on his side when the door opened soundlessly and swung back in the frame smoothly, making it possible for wonwoo to calm down and continue his walk without further troubles.

first he quickly ran to the bathroom to take a peek in the mirror, ruffling through his jet black curls once to get them at least a little in shape. the outfit he wore in his sleep, which was mingyu's t-shirt combined with a pair of his own shorts that reached his knees, was perfect to go downstairs.

they had all been in pajama's when wonwoo came downstairs two days ago anyways, so he didn't think it would bother anyone. he even doubted if anyone would be awake this early. since he didn't exactly check the time when he woke up and the sun was still rising as well he figured it couldn't be past eight.

every wooden step on the staircase seemed to make a different noise when he walked down the circular construction, letting his hand slide over the polished structure of the handrail on his right. when he neared the last few steps he got a view of the sliding doors entirely made out of glass that led to the balcony, making memories of the night before flood his brain.

on how they sat there as a group, raising their glasses on a good vacation, spending the night in soft chatter and cozy laughter. or how it ended up with only him and mingyu and how the elder rested his head on his shoulder. it was the closest they had been that night and wonwoo regretted not taking a step further later that night, so they could have cuddled the night away.

the chance he had gotten a better night rest had been bigger that way.

"wonwoo? you're early! you should join me!"

wonwoo nearly fell off the last step of the staircase and managed to keep himself up by the railing. he wasn't expecting someone to be downstairs this early.

it was the reddish brown haired wen junhui who casually sat at the large oaken wooden table, leaning back in his chair while he held onto a steaming cup. coffee to wonwoo's guess, seeing the air was filled with the familiar scent of wonwoo's favorite beverage.

"g-goodmorning." wonwoo stuttered, adjusting himself to prepare for a verbal conversation.

"do you want coffee as well? seokmin is still asleep and his dad is out of town until tonight so i found out how to use the machine! i can make you an espresso, cappuccino, americano- did you know you can say americano in five different ways?"

wonwoo wondered how a person could be this energetic yet so chaotic this early in the morning, but he decided to let him do his thing. he took a seat on the opposite side of the table and looked up at junhui right in front of him, shaking his head. "i don't?"

"okay listen, Americano, amEricano, amerIcano, americAno and americanO. impressive, huh?" junhui placed the emphasis on all the vowels that the word counted, pointing out exactly five americano's with his fingers as he proudly showed it off to wonwoo.

"that's cool." wonwoo awkwardly smiled, trying his hardest to keep the conversation going but having absolutely no idea how to function correctly with another presence in the room.

"hey, did you wake up mingyu as well? i have to say, he can be really grumpy in the morning." junhui laughed as he took a large sip from his coffee, instantly coughing when the hot substance burned its way down his throat, "ouch hot. i almost forgot! you wanted coffee right?"

"yes, please. a latte would be fine with me, no sugar." wonwoo replied monotone, seeing junhui jump up from his seat and run to the open kitchen, standing behind the counter and clicking several buttons on a silver machine "and he didn't wake up yet. i let him sleep and went downstairs by myself."

"ah man! you should have woke him up! i bet he isn't as grumpy as usual when you're the one he wakes up to!" junhui yells as he chaotically searches for a coffee cup.

"as if." wonwoo snorted sarcastically "isn't that just the same as usual?"

"oh please wonwoo." junhui gestures his hand in the air, waving away wonwoo's assumption "haven't you observed his behavior for the past few days? because i've never seen the boy been so ecstatic before."

"that's because the sea air clears your mind?" wonwoo assumes, feeling heat already make its way up to his cheeks.

"you must be blind to miss mingyu's sudden change." junhui declares, placing a steaming hot cup of latte with a beautiful milky white layer of cream on top of it in front of wonwoo "i mean, you've probably noticed how he's at school, you can't miss his mean attitude he has towards basically everyone. the only ones he has been nice to are me, chan and hansol. and that's only when we're somewhere else than school"

"that's weird?"

"wonwoo, that ain't weird." junhui yet again gulps down too much coffee and makes the same mistake, coughing when he burns his throat for the second time, resulting in wonwoo chuckling by his stupidity "what i'm trying to say is that mingyu definitely got a thing for you. and you would be lying if you said you don't have a thing for him as well."

wonwoo's eyes widened on junhui's straightforward words. however, he knew there was no way of denying it at this point, because he was right. he would even be lying to himself if he denied it, he definitely had a thing going for the tall puppy-like boy.

"well i guess." wonwoo admitted.

"you know, i think it was meant to be!" junhui proudly leans back, "because i've never seen my buddy this happy and trust me, we've been friends for very long. he doesn't just open up to anyone."

somehow it warmed wonwoo to hear about it. but on the other hand it made him question various things as well. for example:

what made mingyu act so rude towards everyone in the first place?
