it has been half an hour since wonwoo received a message from his mother, saying they were leaving a little earlier than originally planned, which happened nearly every single year so far. his parents would be leaving for another important business trip on sunday, seeing it was already friday they were forced to leave the day after.
wonwoo wasn't complaining however, since mingyu had to depart back home today. they would be reunited again in just the span of a short twenty four hours instead of having to wait an entire week. and although he felt bad for his sister somi, whose excitement must have died down at this point, he was thankful for the fact he wasn't forced to stay with his parents for the entire week no longer.
"i can't believe we're going home today." mingyu sighed, moving his hand up to cover his eyes from the late afternoon sun. the tall boy was laying on his towel in nothing more than his swimming trunks, his skin glowing and almost illuminating the warm light.
"well, you can't say we didn't have a good time." hansol stated, sitting straight to stretch his limbs, throwing a mischievous glance over at mingyu "i mean, especially you did, huh?"
a satisfied grin appeared on mingyu's face yet his eyes remained closed. "oh you can definitely say i did. right, wonwoo?"
as if on cue, wonwoo peered his head up, fixating his attention on mingyu in stead of the bustling sea and tourists that crowded the shore. he gave a soft hum in response, still not using many words when there was no need for more to say. which, obviously, saddened mingyu a bit.
"what time are you leaving?" wonwoo asked to whoever was listening in general, his eyes turning back to chan, junhui and seokmin having the time of their lives in the blue ocean water.
"we're supposed to be leaving after dinner." mingyu answered, ignoring the fact that hansol was getting ready to respond to wonwoo. "but i think it's best if we're home at about ten since it's most definitely a two hour drive back to our hometown."
"as long as you're driving, we're not risking our lives again with junhui behind the steering wheel." hansol decided, breathing out with a sharp hiss. "it's a wonder we even arrived at our destiny alive, jesus christ."
"wait, you drive?" wonwoo asked in disbelieve to the boy laying down next to him, making mingyu open his eyes in the process. the golden haired boy propped himself up on his elbow, supporting his head with his hand. "i do, haven't i told you before?"
"i can't remember you did." wonwoo answered in all honesty, scared he might've forgot a crucial detail. either way, he couldn't remember mingyu had ever spoken about that topic no matter how far he dug in his memory.
"oh trust me! your man has in my opinion the prettiest car in our group, even when chan is supposed to be the rich one here." hansol dreamily said, a little too wide smile appearing on his face.
"yeah, he owns a chrysler if i'm right." mingyu ponders before speaking, eyeing hansol if he's correct, the partly american boy giving him a quick nod of confirmation. "and i own a black ford. i still don't understand how i got it for so low-priced at the car dealer though."
wonwoo's mind was suddenly clouded with ideas of how cute it would be if mingyu ever picked him up. such a muscular, tall guy waiting for him in front of his shining black car, opening the door for him and keeping a hand on his thigh for their entire drive. how they could watch the sunset from the trunk on top of a hill, or how they could drive over the highway at night with music on full blast.
"god, i wish i could afford one. i got fired on my last job, perhaps i should start looking for something else." hansol sighed, looking surprised when mingyu suddenly shot up from his position.
"my brother told me a while ago about an application at this really rich family in our town! apparently they're looking for an accountant and they don't want to just let in anyone, so that's why they asked my brother since he's a trusted business partner of their company! you're good at math, right?" mingyu rambled as happiness radiated off his face.
"well, yeah i am i guess. do you perhaps know how much it pays?"
"he hasn't told me yet, but they own way more companies than chan's parents do! they even have some of their firms abroad!" mingyu kept going, even luring wonwoo's attention at this point.
"and the name of the company is?" hansol asked for more information, returning the same energy as mingyu at this point.
"if i'm not mistaken it had something to do with their family name. boo? i thought it was boo? oh and did you know they have a son of our age?"
"i'll definitely keep that in consideration." hansol was beyond glad that mingyu proposed the idea to him. this way it would be easier for him to find a job. not to mention, probably among the best jobs he could possibly think of.
"i will ask my brother about it tonight when we get home, he will take care of it from there!" mingyu assured him, averting his attention to wonwoo on the other side of him out of sudden. heat flushed up to wonwoo's cheeks when he noticed a sudden pair of eyes staring at him. "so, to get back at what we were discussing earlier. are you okay with me picking you up once we get home?"
"gross." hansol gagged, acting as if he was going to vomit from mingyu's cheesy question. however, mingyu was quick to react as he slabbed hansol against his upper leg, hard enough to leave a red mark.
"we could go anywhere you want!" mingyu offered again, patiently waiting for wonwoo to reply.
"i'd love that." wonwoo spoke, a small but genuine smile playing on his lips. they ignored hansol's sounds of disgust and the three other boys running up to them rather loud, enjoying their little moment of eye contact and delighted smiles.
