wonwoo's bedroom was lit in the faint light that radiated off the lamp standing on his nightstand, illuminating the yellow pages of the antique fairy tale book wonwoo owned. the only things that filled the room were wonwoo's deep voice and the occasional turning of pages, while monsoon rain spat up against the window.

"but she had scarcely touched the spindle when it pricked her finger." mingyu was mesmerized by the addicting sound of wonwoo's voice, looking up from the pillow to see his boyfriend sitting straight with his back against the headboard, pushing his glasses a little higher up his nose from time to time.

though his facial expressions barely changed despite his eyebrows moving along with the words he spoke, mingyu couldn't help but to take in every detail from his perspective underneath him. from the yellow light reflecting in his sharp cat-like eyes, to the way his nose scrunched up a little when he wasn't able to restrain a smile.

after seven years of being a legal orphan, mingyu felt like he'd finally found a home. but in a different way. wonwoo was a place of warmth, love and euphoria. it wasn't the type of parental love he missed, it was so much more beautiful in an unexplainable way. the tender touch of wonwoo's fingers brushing against mingyu's exposed forehead, the warmth combined with his scent that radiated off his body, and all other remarkable things of wonwoo together was what made mingyu feel at home.

and he revel in it.

"throughout the castle, everyone and everything woke up and looked at each other with astonished eyes. within the month, the prince and sleeping beauty were married and lived happily.. ever after." with a content sigh wonwoo closed the antique book, careful to not rip any of the old pages. his head fell back against the wall as he dreamed away into the dimmed room, letting his thoughts wander off to the story that reminded him of his childhood.

"i feel old now." mingyu giggled, luring in wonwoo's attention. the sudden nostalgic feeling was nearly overwhelming as they both hadn't heard the story of sleeping beauty in years. "did your parents ever read to you?"

wonwoo looked up at the ceiling, having to dig through his memories though he couldn't remember it. "i don't think they ever did. i learned myself how to read in kindergarten since i didn't really have friends to play with, so i read everything on my own." until a certain memory stroke his brain, reminding him of someone that actually did read to him. "no wait, whenever i slept over at my grandparents house my grandma used to read me a bedtime story!"

"your grandma must be really cool." mingyu let out a happy sigh, still having his eyes fixated on the boy sitting next to him. wonwoo nodded in agreement, flashing a tiny smile. "she really is. my little sister, somi, practically lives there now since my parents can't raise her with all their business trips and stuff. i actually think it's better like that."

the bedroom remained silent for a brief second, until mingyu patted the mattress, gesturing for wonwoo to lay beside him. wonwoo gladly followed his instruction, carefully placing the book on his bedside table before dropping his body next to his boyfriend. unlike back in seokmin's stay, wonwoo only owned a single bed. however, the two rather tall boys still made it fit somehow as they did nothing else but cuddle all night. like that, they didn't need much space anyways.

"thank you." mingyu whispered, his eyes glued to wonwoo's dark orbs who observed mingyu equally as much. "there's no need to thank me, gyu." mingyu still couldn't get over the little nickname he was given. though he'd been called by his friends like that many times before, when it escaped wonwoo's lips it managed to make him feel like one soft puddle.

"but what if i want to thank you? because of you i'm experiencing feelings i didn't know i was capable of feeling." mingyu whispered in all honesty, his words warming up wonwoo's inside along the way.

wonwoo's hand, that rested on top of his duvet, found it's way to mingyu's exposed arm and started tracing his veins and slight muscles, exploring him in his own way. "and i'm so proud of you that you're feeling so much right now." wonwoo spoke silently, finding it difficult to choose the right words.

"you are?" mingyu's expression turned even softer when wonwoo nodded and brushed their noses together. "hey, about earlier in the cafe. you don't think we're going too fast or too slow, right? because if anything, i don't want to rush you or take too long."

wonwoo giggled and hid his face in the crook of mingyu's neck, wishing his furious blush would go by unnoticed. "i think it's going at a perfect pace. don't you think something like that is just a matter of the perfect moment." wonwoo whispered in return, hesitating to ask the next. "have you ever, you know.." "..had sex?" mingyu bluntly finished the sentence wonwoo had been scared to asked, though he nodded.

"i have. but it has never been more than meaningless and platonic. i've never experienced the whole love making." mingyu explained with a heavy sigh, brushing his nose over wonwoo's forehead as he kept his curls a little back with his hand. "but i really want to change that, eventually."

"and how would you be able to change that?" wonwoo had to admit, he feared his answer a bit. what if there was nothing more than platonic love among them, despite all the things mingyu had ever said to him. were they bound to be meaningless as well?

mingyu pressed a gentle kiss against the boy's forehead, being well aware his words caused more insecurities to wonwoo. "because when i'm with you everything has a meaning." wonwoo giggled after pulling a disgusted face. "stop being so damn cheesy all the time."

"i'm not even kidding!" mingyu defended himself as they simultaneously started laughing. "no but i'm serious about it wonwon. i want to experience how it feels to love someone while doing.. you know, the deed."

"and.. am i good enough for that?" wonwoo, who started getting tired, managed to bring out.

"you're the only person i'm able to experience such thing with. i'm sorry if i made you question your worth over that, maybe i should've used a better choice of words." mingyu breathed out, inhaling wonwoo's addicting scent right after. "trust me, there's no one else on this planet who is able to make me feel the same things you make me feel. how cheesy it might sound, i'm one hundred percent serious about it."

and wonwoo let out a content hum, not able to bring out any other form of verbal reply as the boy had fallen asleep against mingyu's bare chest. the puppy-like guy noticed soon enough and pressed another small kiss against wonwoo's forehead before finding a better position to sleep as well, whispering a silent 'goodnight' before he started drifting off to a world of dreams and imagination.

though did he spoke the one hundred percent truth?
