before they could properly blink twice, the day had already reached it's end, meaning wonwoo's stay in mingyu's room came closer as well. but for now, he didn't have to worry about it yet as all the boys sat outside on seokmin's balcony, enjoying the darkness and the late night summer breeze.

the view they got from their position was breathtaking. the sun was finally fully set as the clock was nearing ten pm. the purple blue night sky seemed bright and unclouded. millions and millions of tiny stars sparkled high up in the universe, a beautifully shaped moon guarding over the group of teens.

it was all too good to be true, especially to the usual unsocial wonwoo. there were no words needed for him to express his feelings in that very moment. even when he barely spoke a word to his mutuals, he finally felt like he belonged somewhere. his insecurities didn't seem to matter when mingyu and his friends were around.

even when they were all practically still strangers to him and he only felt comfortable with his friends at home, it was odd how fast he warmed up to them. especially to mingyu. of course.

wonwoo was situated in the corner of the couch, legs pulled up against his chest to protect himself from the chilly breeze. until about half an hour ago the temperature had been perfectly fine, but once the sun fully settled down cold air started teasing his exposed skin, sending goosebumps across his body.

even when he picked up some clothes back at his bungalow when his parents and sister were out of town, he was too lazy to get up from the couch to grab something warmer. not now he was finally comfortable.

mingyu sat right beside him with junhui in the other corner. mingyu was still wearing the same clothes he had worn that day on the beach, the buttons of his blouse still unbuttoned a little too wide. the clothing was visibly oversized for mingyu, making wonwoo wonder how he would wear it.

would i smell like him?

the thoughts that crossed wonwoo's mind on a regular base still tend to confuse him, although he started figuring where they came from and what meaning they held. even though he was scared to admit to them, he was aware of it that he couldn't deny them anymore as well at this point.

his train of thought suddenly got interrupted by something heavy and warm on his shoulder. he slightly flinched by the sudden physical contact but didn't budge from his position. which was nearly impossible since he sat all the way in the corner already.

he looked down to see mingyu had rested his head on top of his shoulder, his brown hair tickling the sensitive skin of wonwoo's neck. "i'm getting tired." mingyu hummed, snuggling a slight bit closer to wonwoo's body who remained in his uncomfortably awkward position.

all eyes were pointed at them, making wonwoo's amount of embarrassment larger than it already was. "then go to sleep, stop bothering me." he hissed, which only resulted in mingyu giving him a weak punch against his arm. "you're being mean."

"should we leave you alone? or get you a room by any chance?" seokmin offered, making the company that sat outside laugh about his words.

"don't be stupid." mingyu still didn't budge to move away from wonwoo, whom he now used as a human pillow "and besides, i already have a room!"

"are you really that stupid? he means get a room. as in, go have se-" "-enough! enough! you're not finishing that sentence!" mingyu shot up and sat straight again, aggressively pointing a finger at chan so he wouldn't end his sentence. "you're literally a child. don't tell me what to do!"

"you're still one as well!" chan fought back.

"but i'm older than you! at least i'm turning eighteen in two months!"

"that's not fair!"

"guys guys, calm down." seokmin said calmly when he noticed the giggly junhui and hansol reaching for their phones to record the argument "mingyu is right, it's getting late and we've been up since pretty early this morning. maybe we should get ready to sleep."

"you definitely don't have to tell me twice! i'm gonna crash guys, see ya!" hansol got up as the first one, leaving the balcony behind in a haste through the glass sliding doors.

"i think i might catch some sleep as well, chan are you coming?" junhui got up from the couch, stretching his arms above his head before walking away from the couch and chairs that surrounded them.

"yes mom." chan hummed, acting as if it was actually a big deal he had to leave already. but wonwoo caught a glimpse of him yawning before he entered the house again, revealing the youngest had been tired as well.

"i think i might catch some sleep as well, can the two of you close the door for me when you're done here? i prefer to keep the house mosquito free." seokmin said, throwing a sly wink at wonwoo whose cheeks lit up again. he knew exactly what seokmin was gesturing at and he desperately hoped it went unnoticed by the tall guy seated next to him.

"you can count on us! sleep well seokmin!" mingyu assured the owner, before he disappeared through the door with an excited "goodnight."

"well, it's just you and me now." mingyu exclaimed, looking beside him to catch wonwoo staring at the landscape in front of them.

even when it was just miles of trees, the ground covered in a sea of forest and green, it seemed magical to the boy now it was completely dark. fireflies flew between the large trees, lighting up specific areas and giving away their location, while high up in the universe stars lit up the clear sky.

"we should go to sleep if you're tired." wonwoo spoke, his eyes yet plastered to the bright stars.

"i'm not that tired anymore." and for the second time that night, mingyu rested his head on wonwoo's shoulder. the atmosphere around them wasn't as awkward as before now it was just the two of them. mingyu's warmth seemed to give wonwoo somewhat comfort and safety. "i haven't seen you this fascinated about something since the moment we met, let's stay outside a little longer."

wonwoo let out a long drawn sigh. "i mean, just look at it." he spoke, sounding like the author of some well written romance "they're so magical. i know they're just gigantic rocks floating through the universe, but look at how gorgeous they are when you look at them from earth. they're so beautiful yet so intimidating from down here."

wonwoo only realized that the exact words he used to describe the stars with, he had unconsciously described mingyu with as well. he had no idea if mingyu noticed it, but it didn't matter.

"please use your words more." mingyu whispered, his attention fixated on the boy next to him instead of the stars.

the stars, sky and universe didn't matter to mingyu. because wonwoo seemed to hold his entire universe in that moment.
