"do you really have to go already?" mingyu pouted at wonwoo, who already turned his back at the tall guy.

telling mingyu he had to get at the cabin for dinner had been an excuse to flee the whole situation he was dragged into. maybe wonwoo was exaggerating, but meeting new people made his level on anxiety only worse. however, it was nearing six pm so the whole excuse of having dinner might be true once he returned.

"like i said, my mom just texted me that i had to come back for dinner." wonwoo said as mingyu was getting on his nerves. he talked to mingyu's friends for over ten minutes, even when his friends talked more than wonwoo did, what else did he expect from the obviously introvert boy?

"can i walk you to your bungalow?" mingyu offered, ignoring wonwoo's cold attitude as he started walking next to the boy out of a sudden, assuming he sped up his tempo.

"no." wonwoo shortly replied, not in a need to use more words.

"then, can i walk you to the edge of the forest?" mingyu offered again, the overly happy tone in his voice staying the same.

"no." wonwoo repeated himself, although it didn't stop mingyu from trailing him like a lost puppy.

"then can i at least get your number?" heat rose up to wonwoo's cheeks. smooth. he thought to himself as he rolled his eyes in a way to suppress his flustered expression.

"why?"

"you're not one to speak with many words are you?" mingyu asked in curiosity, not answering wonwoo's question. if he only knew that all the literature wonwoo had read had fed his words well, he only barely used them when it came to practical strangers.

"maybe." wonwoo replied, yet again, shortly.

"but i can get your number right?"

"what do you need it for?" wonwoo asked, getting slightly annoyed by how flustered this mingyu guy managed to make him.

"scientific purposes." mingyu joked, catching wonwoo's eyes for a moments as he showed his white canines that shimmered in the bright sunlight, "you know that phone numbers can come in as handy when you want to text or call someone, right?"

"i'm not stupid. why would you want to text or call me?"

"because you seem nice." mingyu replied in all honesty, making wonwoo even more confused since he hadn't exactly been nice to the giant in the last fifteen minutes they had spent together.

however, he knew that if he didn't exchange phone numbers with him, mingyu wouldn't stop trying until he got what he wanted. so wonwoo decided to give in, giving a small nod to signal he was okay with it.

"wait really?" mingyu's smile grew wider when he realized wonwoo gave in easier than he expected. and when wonwoo gave him a second confirming nod he reached in the pocket of his swimming trunks, grabbing the phone he just took with him after it lay on his towel the whole time. his phone wasn't water proof, so keeping it inside his pocket when he would take a swim wouldn't be exactly a smart idea.

"here you go!" mingyu handed over his phone, ready for wonwoo to insert his phone number in the device.

in all silence, wonwoo typed in the digits and saved the new made contact right afterwards, returning the phone back to mingyu whose level of excitement raised even more as he started double checking if it was correct.

"can i go now?" wonwoo asked in his monotone voice.

mingyu's head perked up on the question, a small pout appearing on his face. "are you sure i don't have to walk you to the cabin?" he asked for the second time, hoping for wonwoo to admit again. but luck didn't seem to be on his side as wonwoo continued his walk and left the starstruck mingyu behind.

"i don't see why you should walk with me."

"to get you home safely!" mingyu was quick to catch up with the cold wonwoo, not waiting for permission to walk him home but trailing him anyhow.

"i'm not a baby mingyu." wonwoo tried again, hoping to finally convince mingyu he didn't need him to walk him back to the cabin.

"you don't need to be a baby for me to walk you back, just see it as a nice gesture." mingyu insisted, not letting go so easily.

"just go back to your friends. i can walk back perfectly by myself. at this point i believe that you're a nice human being." wonwoo assured him once they arrived at the edge of the forest.

wonwoo found out he had taken the wrong path earlier, as just a few steps further there was an actual path without branches hanging too low for him to push a way through them.

"okay then." mingyu finally gave in, sticking out his bottom lip in a small pout, "but you're coming to the party tonight, right?"

"do i look like one to go to parties?" yet again, wonwoo was surprised by how stupid this mingyu guy could be. after having a conversation with the most unsocial introvert human to be exsisting you would assume mingyu would understand wonwoo at least a little by now? but apparently, he doesn't.

"but it's fun! every other night there is this party, a little further on the beach, meant for everyone of our age! the music is good, they got free food and there is an actual dj. you should totally come! me and my friends will be there too." and again, mingyu pulled that stupidly adorable pout, making it incredibly hard for wonwoo to keep resisting, "please..?"

"i'll think about it." wonwoo huffed, turning around before mingyu could say anything again.

"i hope to see you tonight! i'll send you the exact location and time!" mingyu let out a sound of victory, excited to possibly see wonwoo again that night.

"don't expect too much of it." wonwoo nagged at the taller male, not turning around as he walked further down the path, embracing himself in the familiar surroundings of the forest.

"i will! bye wonwoo!"

wonwoo imagined how the tall male waved at him, but gave him the cold shoulder as he started walking on the main path again and letting the sounds of the beach disappear behind him. that mingyu really was something.

but how annoying and intrusive he could be, wonwoo couldn't help but to smile at the thought of everything that had happened in the past 20 minutes. when was the last time anyone had been so excited to see him? beside his friends back at home? maybe it was his curiosity to find out what mingyu's real intentions were.

perhaps he would show up at that party tonight.
