"mingyu open up, i know you're in here!"
hansol. mingyu recognized the voice right away as he turned the volume of the television all the way up to shut off the surroundings. yet even with the main character's voice blasting through the room, hansol's intrusive tone still reached mingyu's ear. "yo don't act childish with me now and open this fucking door man!"
mingyu let out an exhausted sigh and threw his head back against the couch's headrest, staring up at the plain grey ceiling. if only namjoon wasn't at work. he would've sent the intruder home on mingyu's request, making the situation much more easier in this case.
yet still he got up from the couch and slumped to his front door, knowing he had already given away his presence the moment he turned the television's volume all the way up. these apartments were far from soundproof, and mingyu had known that in his seven years of living here.
"i'm coming, jeez take it easy." mingyu grabbed his keys from the cupboard in the hallway and opened the door, revealing an obviously angry hansol. shit. his eyes only told mingyu that he messed up real big this time.
"come in, you want anything to drink?" mingyu stepped aside to allow his friend inside, trying to go for some small talk to lighten the mood.
"don't talk shit mingyu, you know exactly what i'm here for." hansol stood in the middle of the room, trying to get mingyu's attention by crossing his arms. yet the taller male ignored his actions and scurried past the partly american boy, flopping down onto his couch as he stared in the opposite direction.
he couldn't face hansol directly, knowing it'd only remind him of his actions of stupidity. "mingyu! i'm talking to you, don't act dumb."
mingyu hummed in annoyance, still refusing to make eye contact. "i know." he simply replied, only rising hansol's level of irritation. "jesus man, i can't believe you. first you go out hurting wonwoo and now you're acting as if nothing ever happened. i've always knew you were the kind of player to hurt people without an excuse, but this? for fucks sake, come on."
mingyu remained silent, trying to control the rising feeling of anger. he knew it was no use to let his anger take over in hansol's presence, there would only be more evidence to blame him for. "it's wasn't on purpose-"
"-wasn't on purpose?" hansol cynically laughed, nodding his head in a sarcastic way. "so you broke up by accident? oh poor mingyu, i feel so sorry for you now."
"can you just stop? okay i know i fucked up real big this time, but you're not making it any better for me either. i know that what i've done was wrong and i take full responsibilities for what happened to wonwoo."
"you know the meaning of taking responsibility, right? if you actually felt responsible for your actions you would have reached out to wonwoo in the past few days. you would have at least called or messaged him once, instead of leaving our group chat like the fucking coward you are. you would have been there for him."
hansol sighed, knowing no matter what he tried, his words wouldn't reach mingyu anyhow. "but instead, you haven't even apologized properly."
instinctively mingyu shot up from the couch and raised his volume, getting closer to hansol who barely even flinched. "fuck you! fuck you hansol! don't tell me what to fucking do! okay, i know my mistakes, but leave me the fuck alone and don't order me around!"
just before he was about to raise his fist, an ironical grin flashed on hansol's face, not even scared to look mingyu straight into his eyes which frightened the taller and made him step back. "congrats, the old mingyu is back."
"stop calling me that! stop! please stop!" mingyu covered his ears as his voice echoed through the room, turning his back against hansol as he walked in the opposite direction. as childish as it seemed, mingyu had no control about his emotions at this point anymore.
"you know what, visiting you actually made me change my mind. jeonghan had been right after all, silly me." hansol let out a taunting chuckle, a broad smile appearing on his face out of a sudden. "i actually came here in the first place to tell you about wonwoo's accident, but you're already a danger to yourself. i think it's for the best if you don't even come near the poor boy."
mingyu's head peered up on those words. "accident..?" he spoke with a wavering voice.
"yeah, an accident. while we were meeting up with wonwoo he got hit by a car. fortunately he didn't have any severe injuries beside some scratches. but the doctors did discover he suffers from a type of amnesia."
"a..amnesia?" mingyu stuttered, finding it hard to comprehend the painful words. wonwoo is in pain because of the actions i've caused?
"yup, amnesia. now normally things like that don't really bother me. but we're talking about the fact that wonwoo forgot about our entire vacation. he forgot about seokmin. lee fucking seokmin. you remember the happy boy with no friends?" hansol explained, raising his tone once again as he hoped it would get to mingyu. "if it wasn't for their friendship i wouldn't even have visited you in the first place. of course i value mine and wonwoo's friendship equally as much, but seokmin deserves it more than we all do."
"then why did you come to tell me?"
"because everyone agreed that if anyone would be able to clear wonwoo's memories up it would be you." hansol stated, letting out a sigh as he walked back to the door. seeing mingyu like that, he was well aware he wouldn't come with him right now. "please get yourself together man. think about what i just told you, if you don't show up soon enough wonwoo's memories might never return."
with a void expression mingyu stared at the floor, hearing hansol leave the apartment. "i hope you're not selfish enough to stay in your apartment, just because you feel miserable. again, i'm not doing this for you, you don't deserve to receive wonwoo's love after your previous actions. but please consider doing it for seokmin. we're running out of time."
we're running out of time...
