the atmosphere around the table was fairly gloomy as it was their last dinner in seokmin's stay. all boys preferred to stay longer to spend more days on the gorgeous beach and in the calm nature that surrounded the house. and seokmin just wanted to keep them in his company as it were the first friends he had ever made.

although they tried to leave their department in about an hour unspoken, they still grieved about the fact that they were bound to leave. even when seokmin's father came with the tastiest desert, they still couldn't help but to sulk a little.

"i think it's best if we start packing our bags." hansol decided after they had cleaned the maroon table, seeing that at this point there was no other option left than to go upstairs and leave for good.

"yeah you're right." chan sighed, eyeing the floor as he said so. it was seokmin who managed to make a smile appear on his face again as the always cheerful boy wrapped an arm around his shoulder. "come on, get that frown off your face. i'll help you pack your bags!"

chan nodded and allowed seokmin to guide him away from the group, up the circular wooden stairs to his room. even wonwoo, who hadn't been here longer than two nights, couldn't help but to join in on everyone's mood.

the moment he set foot into seokmin's house he felt like he finally came home. the scent of fresh wood that hung around the house. the outdated interior that was entirely made out of wood, even the kitchen counter. mingyu's room, where he experienced his first night being held by someone. he would even miss seokmin and mister lee's presence.

there were so many things he experienced in just the span of a short few days, not counting everything that happened since he arrived on monday. and now he had to leave all that behind.

"wonwon?" wonwoo realized he had zoned out for a moment when he heard mingyu calling him by his nickname. "are you coming with me?"

wonwoo figured mingyu was talking about his room upstairs when he saw him walking into the direction of the large polished staircase. he nodded, silently following the taller male.

the door to mingyu's bedroom opened with a faint creak, wonwoo entering the familiar room after mingyu. he took a seat on the large double bed and watched how mingyu started packing his bag, grabbing his clothes from the closet and neatly folding them before he let them disappear in his big traveling bag.

"it's unfortunate we can't stay any longer." wonwoo finally spoke, making mingyu take a small break to look at the curly haired boy on the bed. mingyu couldn't exactly read his expression as his jet black hair covered his eyes completely, falling all the way over his specs.

"it is, yeah." mingyu let out a small sigh, licking his delicate pink lips in the process before he stepped closer to wonwoo. the mattress sank a little when mingyu rested his weight on it, his shoulder aligned to wonwoo's. "but everything must come to an end. you can't say we didn't make some beautiful memories, right?"

wonwoo nodded, looking up to mingyu's hazel brown eyes. "but what if things change when we get back home." mingyu chuckled delightful, moving a hand up to ruffle through wonwoo's curly hair, gently massaging his scalp. "well there is a beach at the edge of town back at home. i know it's not as pretty as this one, but that doesn't mean that i'm letting go of you when we get back to our daily life."

"even when we have separate groups of friends? and what about your position in school?" wonwoo worriedly rambled on, shutting his eyes to enjoy mingyu's tender touches on top of his head.

"especially hansol, junhui and chan are willing to meet new people, you've seen yourself how easily they accepted you! of course they love to meet others. and i honestly don't care at all how people in school see me at this point. i have a bad reputation anyways." both mingyu and wonwoo giggled, leaning a tad bit closer to each other.

"i wish we could take seokmin with us." wonwoo sighed, hesitating to tell mingyu the same stories mister lee had told him the day before.

"so you're with him now huh?" mingyu playfully poked wonwoo in his side, knowing the boy was ticklish.

"no it's not like that. i'll explain later." as if on cue, the door swung open and seokmin's face peeked around the corner.

"i'm not interrupting anything, right?" the smile that appeared on seokmin's face managed to light up the entire room, radiating the same energy as the sun. both mingyu and wonwoo couldn't deny that just a bare smile of the boy made their entire day so much better.

"of course not!" mingyu assured him, replacing his hand from on top of wonwoo's hand to the mattress, leaning back a little.

"well, i have some good news for wonwoo!" wonwoo seemed shocked and surprised at the same time, but nodded for seokmin to continue. "my dad decided he wants you to stay over for one more night, this way you don't necessarily have to sleep at your parents. but only if you want to, of course!"

"but, what about the money? how much do i have to pay to rent a room for tonight?" wonwoo asked, ashamed of the fact that he didn't have any money on him at that moment.

"nothing! he said he really enjoys your company and since it's only for one night he's more than okay with it! and i personally prefer to have you over for a night longer as well." however, seokmin was quick to correct himself, checking if mingyu agreed too. "if your boyfriend if okay with that, of course."

"i don't see why not! i think out of all of us wonwoo might miss this place the most." wonwoo nodded in agreement, slightly taken aback by the utterly friendly offer. "well, i'd love to stay one more night. if it's really okay with you and your father i'll definitely stay."

"great! then that's set! i'll leave you two lovebirds alone again!" seokmin hurried himself out, leaving mingyu and wonwoo alone so they could spend a few more minutes in the room that smelled like forest and freshly polished wood.

and they revel in it.
