All I did was add dragon scales instead of regular fish scales, and the consequences could have probably killed me. I actually blamed this on the professors because it was a bloody easy potion to get wrong.

The potion started to bubble more than it should, the golden liquid turning an awful sluggish green as the bubbles pop on the surface. My eyes widen slightly in confusion, for I'd not seen anyone else's do this and most people had finished theirs.... but then again me and potions just don't get along.

I only found out what I'd done wrong AFTER, so sue me if I was confused.

Hermione, who was now sat in her chair with her eyes flitting over some notes on the subject looked up for a split second, only for her eyes to bug out. She shoves her book away and grabs my arm, tugging me away from the cauldron and yells out at Ron and Harry who were sat opposite us to get back.

They do, without question. Both boys leaping away from the desk just as my potion explodes. Green flames lick at the desk, hot air brushing me and Hermione as it erupts in a massive fireball that shakes the whole room and causes mass chaos. Girls were screaming, boys were swearing and Professor Snape was struggling to contain the students - something that rarely happened.

Then, Draco and a few of his friends that flanked his side burst into laughter "She's worse than Finnigan!" Though I would have shrugged it off and joined, I could hear how clipped it was, and the next sentence that followed made my stomach flip "This is why we need to get rid of them. Mudbloods and Halfbloods shouldn't be here"

"Don't listen to them, it was an easy mistake" Hermione whispered, helping me up with a small smile but I don't return it, instead I look over at Seamus who was staring at Draco with a glare and I couldn't help but feel guilty, it was my fault they were getting at him.

"Shut it Malfoy" I discreetly flip him off by tucking some hair behind my ear with my middle finger so the teacher wouldn't catch me, and it was an action he saw because I could hear the shocked gasps from their side of the classroom, and harsh muttering between themselves. They were cruel, rude and sly people and I hated them so much because of how they treated people.

So for the remainder of the lesson, I found numerous other ways to discreetly swear at them - something I found entertained the rest of my time.

.................

Once the lesson ended, Seamus and Dean were the first two out of the classroom, and I was lucky to be out after most people had left because I was so disorganised and had to put everything away before I left.

I struggled to spot Seamus in the corridor, but once I do I shout for him, my voice echoing off the walls, though I wasn't sure if he heard.

"Seamus!" I call out, almost tripping over my own feet as I struggle to keep up with his fast pace, my satchel and numerous textbooks weighing me down. "Please! Wait up!"

He pauses, but before I catch him turning around, I stumble over something and fall forward. Without any time to raise my hands to protect my face, my forehead hits the ground and I could feel my brain rattling around in my skull, a groan leaving my lips.

"(Y/n)!" I hear pounding footsteps but I'm too disoriented to move, my vision blurry as I lift my head up from the floor. Black dots danced around my vision and I bring a hand up to my head, wincing when I poke it. And yet, I poke it again - just to check if it still hurt.... which I do admit to doing numerous more times.

Someone helps me up, and I find myself staring into dreamy blue eyes once again, his sandy brown hair messed up and a frown pulling at his lips - something he rarely does.
