The day of the eighth Minecraft championship was possibly the best day of Techno's life so far. Everything, from the weather, to the fact that he won, to his teammates was perfect. Sure, he liked Burren and Michael, they were funny, but he really enjoyed collaborating with Dream. It was amazing, supporting each other, making jokes together, just talking about the games, he hadn't ever had so much fun commentating with someone before. He liked making videos with Skeppy, they were fun, but nothing could compare with playing with someone of equal skill level. It made the future that much more exciting.

He had already agreed to duel Dream for Mr Beast, he would never deny free clout, no matter how nervous he was, but now it had a whole other meaning. He trained and trained, and the day of the duel, he found out they would be in separate vcs. This was devastating, he was so excited to return to their banter from earlier, but it wouldn't happen. During the whole duel, he kept thinking about what Dream would say about his combo, or what cries of frustration he would be having that Techno could laugh at. It was almost distracting.

Once Techno won, they were finally able to chat. And chat they did. They talked for what seemed like hours just about how the fights went, who made mistakes, who did better, how they improved, everything. He was so happy to nerd out with someone as passionate about Minecraft pvp as he was, they easily lost track of time. He joked around that he never wanted to play 1.16 with Dream again, but in reality, it was the complete opposite. Every bone in his body was telling him to play Minecraft with this man as much as physically possible.

When they finally ended the chat, Techno glanced at the dms Dream had sent him, and remembered the proposition for a manhunt. Before, he had been dismissive. He wasn't anywhere near a speed runner, and Dream was likely to crush him, so he had merely replied "sure" and deflected any attempts to make hard plans. Now though, things were different. He set up a time for the manhunt and confirmed with Dream, it was a go. He smiled happily to himself as he thought about it more and more, excited for the day.

Leading up to the manhunt, they ended up chatting. Like a lot. They ended up calling each other just about every day, talking about everything and growing ever closer. Dream told him things his fans didn't know, Techno told Dream things his fans didn't know either. By the time they recorded for the manhunt, they were naturally bouncing off each other, banter and jokes leaving not a moment of silence. This would be a hard video to edit.

According to Dream, they recorded the longest he had ever recorded a manhunt before. Not just because they both got a turn, or because they constantly outsmarted each other, but because between and after they couldn't stop talking. They spent hours divulging their strategies, contemplating what ifs, discussing tactics they didn't have a chance to try. They were both so excited to find someone else so easy to talk to.

The manhunt ended, but their friendship didn't. Dream almost immediately invited him to his SMP server, and Techno just as immediately accepted. Now, they were playing Minecraft almost everyday together, but that wasn't all. They made videos together so often, George was starting to get jealous. Techno helped smooth out and generate ideas, while Dream used Techno's energy to help him code. They were still friends with other people, of course, and they had their low spots, but let's just say that Techno's channel got the most consistent uploads it had in years.
