The wedding singer

It wasn't a one night stand. It really wasn't. Just because they made out doesn't mean it was a one night stand.

Techno had been drinking more than usual that night, starting to get really stressed about planning his sister's wedding. He really should've hired someone else to do it. As he drowned his sorrows, a boy around his age with dirty blonde hair had come up and started flirting with him, obviously drunk. There were some others guys giggling behind him, but Techno didn't care. One thing led to another and Techno was dragging the boy to his car, loopy and honestly pretty excited for what was to come. Apparently the boy couldn't wait and jogged closer, freeing his hand to grab both sides of Techno's face and pull him into a deep kiss. All he could taste was beer. They ended up against a brick wall, each taking turns leading as their drunk minds went in an out of the moment. The boy had released from his turn to look at Techno with dreamy and inebriated eyes.

"I can really feel something in me." He mumbled, drunk elation in his smile. And then he threw up.

That's why he had hickeys and a sore lip. It wasn't because of a one night stand. As Techno reasoned to himself, he finished nursing his headache and got dressed. He dreaded what the cook or cleaner would say if they saw the hickeys, but he didn't have time to bother with them. He was just glad he could work from home. Sure enough, people had their eyes on him more than usual at breakfast, but a few headache fueled glares, and no one said a word.

He did his work in the study as usual, finishing early, then went back to the real headache, his sister's wedding. Why oh why had he promised to be their wedding planner as a gift. Well, what's done is done, and he had a job to do. He checked up on the dress orders and the schedule for deciding food, sent yet another email to a potential photographer then went back to his list. The next thing was music, and his sister wanted a live band. Luckily she didn't want an orchestra or anything, so he did a bit of googling and networking to search around. The clearly best option was booked the night of the wedding, so he had to look a bit more. One name that kept coming up was The Dream Dance Boys. None of their promotional items had their faces, which could be a bad sign, but they had a lot of positive reviews and a few of his coworkers had good things to say. Still on the fence, Techno requested to hear a recording, which he got that evening. They were good. Not actually good, but wedding band good. Though somehow, it sounded almost familiar. Dismissing the thought, he booked them for the day of the wedding. After another vague email from the photographer, Techno's headache got too bad, and he stopped for the day. Fairly productive day.

Dream was still hungover in bed when he got the email asking for availability. He sent a quick text to the group chat, too much in pain to be excited, then went back to thinking about the guy from last night. He really regretted a lot. Why had he allowed himself to throw up right then. Why had he been impatient when they were already on their way to his car, why had he even listened to his friends' drunk dares in the first place. He was drunk, that's why. He didn't really enjoy being drunk, he was bold and weird enough without alcohol, he was just drinking because of his friends. That and he was too competitive to back down from a drinking game. Maybe if he and that guy saw each other again sober, he'd actually have a shot. Fat chance though, especially now that they have history.

He looked at his phone to see that the rest of the band was free and confirmed the new gig. He has to remember to not drink the day before.

Techno's stress levels were at an all time high. It was the day of the wedding, everything could go wrong and he wouldn't have time to fix it. Luckily, his angelic secretary, Niki, had decided to help him out with a bit of unpaid labor. As he oversaw the set up of the venue, she ran up to him.

"Your sister is awake and ready, her bridesmaids are taking care of her, so don't worry."

"Oh perfect, thank you Niki. There should be more staff arriving soon, can you make sure they all know what they're doing?"
